I love the character kinda reminds me of Gandalf. Ironically many of us readers/fans think that the character and author are the same being.

Cool picture of Ed Greenwod. I never read any of the Forgotten Realms books, maybe one of these days I will pick some up.

Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
I read some R.A. Salvatore and I like his books. I'm having trouble finding physical copies of Ed Greenwood's earlier books on Amazon. I kept finding a lot of kindle versions.
Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
Try a local used book store, they usually have lots of the D&D fiction books, at least around here.

Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
I had found some of the Ed Greenwood books on Amazon in the past they were sold by used book stores that have amazon shops on there. Discount books or something was one of them, Bargain Books or maybe it was Thrift store Books were other amazon stores I had found older D&D novels on. They are not usually the amazon 2 day shipping but usually are more accurately priced I had found. But like Rex said check to see if there are any local used book stores you can find stuff there that you wouldn't imagine at times.
As for R.A Salvatore books are you looking for some that are not about Drizzt? If so I suggest
Cleric Quintet (Consists of these 4 books: Canticle, In Sylvan Shadows, Night Masks, The Fallen Fortress)
Sellsword Series
Servant of the Shard
Promise of the Witch-king
Road of the Patriarch

I have Legacy of the Drow and Icewind Dale Trilogy along with Paths of Darkness. How are those series, Ed? Are they as popular as the Drizzt novels? I'll have to check them out!

I love going to used book stores. You can find all sorts of awesome stuff. At the local Half-Price book store I found a brand new copy of Baldur's Gate 2 still in the big box, they only wanted $10.
Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
Agreed, I to like used book stores and even libraries.
Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
I have read some of the Drizzt series. I particularly liked his skills and the panther
I also like the book and movie Eragon.
I enjoyed reading the Stand.
I enjoyed some of the Star Trek Original Series books.
I also liked most 80's DC comics. I have saved several boxes of the Comics some sealed and some resealed in 3 ring binder sleeves. My plan was to inventory them after I retire and possibly grade them for sale later on.

The Cleric Quintet is probably closer to popularity of the Drizzt various series but I don't know that many can even compete with the Drizzt books TBH. Also I've heard good things about Salvatore's Star Wars books you might give some of those a read I mean to at some point myself.RiverGreenForest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 2:51 am I have Legacy of the Drow and Icewind Dale Trilogy along with Paths of Darkness. The 2 different series I mentioned are ones I have read and really liked or am currently finishing. If you know Drizzt you likely know of Jarlaxle and Artemis Entreri those are the two stars of the Sellsword Series it's their exploits after I think the drow and dwarf war in Mithral Hall then again quite possibly before that one. I know it starts off in the first book after the time of the Icewind Dale Trilogy.

If willing to go for stuff other than D&D series Markus Heitz, "The Dwarves" series is pretty good, a very cool take on Dwarves.

Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
You guys are giving some good recommendations. I'll have to check out the Sellsword Series, I don't know why but I always thought Artemis a major jerk or that he suffered from Little Man Syndrome. I'm definitely wanting to check out The Dwarves. I like Dwarves but only second to Orcs, I wish I had the mental capacity to write a good Orc short story.
Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
The Orcs are actually well done in The Drawves series.

Re: Q&A: All things out of character continued again
There was an R.A. Salvatore book that focused on orcs for a bit too. Granted it did turn out to be part of a Drizzt series though. I believe it was in the The Hunter's Blades Trilogy, The Thousand Orcs book.

I think I have a copy of that book. I think I have the first one. I got it for free after buying some dice years ago.
