Yup, tame.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Personally, I would have an better chance of going when school is in session and would prefer it less in the Winter. How about a weekend in September?

Ooh, fall is College Football season. I spend 12-13 hours each Saturday watching football. I try to avoid scheduling anything on weekends September through November. I do make an exception for Gamehole, but I feel bad about it and check scores on my phone all day long.

But to be fair to everyone else, don't worry about where or when would work for me. Odds are that I won't be able to make it. I haven't been to Phoenix Con, even though I Kickstarted it and it's only a few hours away and in state. And with presumably much cheaper hotels than the Chicago area.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

I am not sure about travel in my case, but would be out the beginning of October until the end of December either way. The less of a drive for me the more likely I am able to come, but looking at a long drive no mater what. I have driven to Chicago and Wisconsin 20+ times (I had a brother go to college in Chicago and another in Milwaukee, one is still out there) so I have done it before.

As far as Chicago in winter, it would be a warm up for me so that doesn't bother me. Guessing if you can't handle Chicago winters you wouldn't care for the mountains of northern Vermont 6 months out of the year.

Someone sounds awfully opinionated for a person who is pretty sure they won't attend anyway.

What about May?

I am trying to think of anything that would interfere with having it during late spring, but can't come up with much.

The second week of May wouldn't work for me (specifically, May 8th and May 12th); but, anything outside of that.

Are you thinking in like a month plus or 13+ months from now?

Late may is a good time to plan for. that would have to be next year for me as I have work commitments and other travel already planned for this may.

Ya, I think we would be shooting for next year if it's going to be in spring. It would make for difficult planning if it were next month, already.

I haven't heard many negatives about May so far......

Anyone else have an opinion?

I love the lusty month of May! :D
I'm retired, so whenever it is, I'm good.
If it's during football season, maybe I can catch a game while in town ;)
If it's during hockey season, same.
If it's during baseball season...well, maybe :D
Winter is coming...

For those of you who expressed interest in this endeavor, I have exciting news.......

THIS IS HAPPENING!!!

We have a new thread set up to discuss the details once we get a few more things ironed out, but you should know that Dave and I are all over this.

Details you say?

Things are obviously still in motion, but it will be a Midwest location and held sometime around or in the month of May, 2025. :D

So stop by the new thread, viewforum.php?f=1579 once we start populating it, for all the newest information, and get ready for some FtF gaming.

Please see the latest post in the dedicated topic for this event:

Seriously, let us have it!

We're trying to test whether the above will be a viable solution as an alternative to using Tabletop.Events.

Mark me down as definitely interested, depending on the date. May 29-June 1 wouldn't work for me, but other than that my May schedule is currently open.
