Turn 26
Turn Order / Player / Adventurer / Color / Treasure
#1 / Guru / Superhero - Beryl Ruby / Red / 3,500 gp
#2 / Grog / Superhero - Erekose / Red knight mini / 16,000 gp
#3 / DadsAngry / Wizard - Evok / White / 5,500 gp
#4 / Rex / Hero - Rex / Blue / 0 gp
Beryl Ruby battles a werewolf and kills the lycanthrope, gaining a sack of 1,000 gp.
Erekose moves into the ruined chamber of the Queen's Treasure Gallery. There he comes upon... T26 Grog L5 monster [1d14]=13... a black pudding. Erekose vs black pudding [2d6+2]=8+2=10 The superhero thinks he slays it, but isn't sure.
There appears to be a discrepency in Black Pudding cards. This monster is on 5th and 6th levels but has a different number for Superheroes. The 6th level Black Pudding needs a 10, the 5th level needs a 12.
I believe the 5th level is a misprint for the following reasons:
- On the L5 card, the Hero needs a 12 also. The Superhero always has a better chance than the Hero, which is always the case except here.
- Having the same monster on different levels is not uncommon (e.g. vampire, giant, green slime, purple worm, mummy, giant lizard, giant spider, etc. al. See spoilered Monster List below.) and they always have the same numbers. For the Superhero (the strongest fighter), the toughest monster is Red Dragon, Evil Wizard and Purple Worm which need an 11. The L6 Black Pudding at 10 makes sense. A L5 Black Pudding at 12 seems odd and wrong in context.
An online search on the topic yielded nothing. While I believe it a misprint, I've leave it up to a player vote.
Monster Card List
Evok journeys toward the main gallery to replenish his spells.
Rex recovers from his clash with the giant lizard.

I agree with you on the black pudding card, it makes sense that it is a Level 6 at 10.
Rex advances back into the room and attacks the Giant Lizard.
Attack [_2d6]=(1+2)=3

Re: Table #9: Dungeon! (TSR, 1981)
The 5 does apply to that 3rd level chamber, but becomes moot for a trap door. You just fall through and deal with the 4th level monster, which requires the new roll.gurusql wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 3:15 pmWhile I would be happy to roll again, I have to take the lumps for the 5 attack on Turn 27 firstGrognardsw wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 1:53 pmBeryl Ruby is confronted by a troll. Re: Table #9: Dungeon! (TSR, 1981)
So I am a little turned around, I was waiting for you to reply with my turn 27 and as a result I think I lost my turn 28
I will drop the 1000 gp sack
and go back and attack for my next turn
Attack: [_2d6]=(2+1)=3
If you let me know the result of this bad roll I will move to my turn 29.
