That sounds like a plan, I'm digging those character creation house rules as well!

Glad to hear it.

I'm thinking you guys will like the house rules I'm working on, too. ;)

I'd also like to play a 5e game, so please add me to the waitlist.

Also, for anyone who's impatient with the waitlist on this one, I'm trying to get a different 5e game off the ground as DM.

Everything looks great so far. Do you have a campaign set up on D&D Beyond? Are you using any UA content? I like the looks of the Twilight Domain for Cleric. Are Variant Humans in play?

I do. I will be forwarding invites soon.
Rex wrote:Are you using any UA content?
No, sorry. I have detailed steps on setting up the character sheet in D&D Beyond in my 'D&D Beyond: Character Sheet' topic, and I'm requesting that all "sources" (homebrew, Critical Role, UA, etc...) be disabled.
Rex wrote:I like the looks of the Twilight Domain for Cleric.
I'm not familiar with this. I will need to look to see what that even is.

Definitely.

Oh, the Twilight domain is UA content.

Sorry, man. One of the last sources I would consider allowing is UA for a number of reasons. I'm going to stick with official sources only (and even then, only limited titles).

That's fine. In 5e I have run a druid, cleric twice, sorcerer and fighter. The druid is the only one that ever leveled up. Thinking maybe going the fighter route in this game and the monk in the other 5e game just starting.

I had a dwarven monk in a previous game that only got as far as 2nd level. I would love to play that character again (of course, adjusting back down and taking into account house rules.)

I have no problem with a dwarven monk.

It might be easiest to just rebuild the character, copying all the details, but applying the filters and settings as you go. But, however you want to do it.

I intend to rebuild, just re-use his personality and what-not.

Okay, with eight players interested, I decided to bite the proverbial bullet and create two games -- four players in each -- organized as follows:

Adventures in Aberdeen (5e)
  1. Rex (Fri Feb 07, 2020 1:17 am)
  2. ybn1197 (Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:05 am)
  3. Monsieur Rose (Fri Feb 07, 2020 11:00 am)
  4. kalstone (Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:39 pm)
  5. Darklin2 (Tue Feb 11, 2020 4:41 pm)
Adventures in Manor Hills (5e)
  1. Hadarai (Fri Feb 07, 2020 1:18 pm)
  2. Scott308 (Sat Feb 08, 2020 8:10 pm)
  3. ravenn4544 (Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:50 pm)
  4. tibbius (Mon Feb 10, 2020 8:52 pm)

The two games will be sharing an identical setup and the same rules; the only difference will be in the first "action" thread as each will be setting off on completely different storylines and adventures.

With the first game almost complete (I just have a single house rule to document), I will go ahead and start inviting players to the respective games.

The official waitlist starts now.

I actually can't access D&D Beyond (don't have or want a google account). So I guess I'll drop out of this.

Fair enough. Thanks for letting me know.

  3. ravenn4544 (Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:50 pm)
  4. Open
Is someone from the 'Adventures in Aberdeen' game willing to switch to the 'Adventures in Manor Hills' game? If not, that's fine. I'm okay to run one group of five and one group of three, but two parties of four will probably work out the best.

Let me know.

As requested I am posting here. i am interested in hopping into the Manor Hills game with a Wood Elf druid - Circle of the Shepard. General concept is that she has massive wanderlust and extreme fascination with other people and their cultures. She left her village to just interact with others and ended up traveling with a halfling caravan for a bit.

Wood Elf Druid, Kythaela Jadewind || Adventures in Manor Hills -- DnD 5e
