Folco is surprised but glad to see Glasik round the corner towards him. He points to his pile of dead orcs, just about to ask how many the dwarves killed, when he is quickly ushered back into the next chamber. If he can find something still on fire, but only half burned that he can grab in his hand, the hobbit grabs it and exits the smoking hallway.

When he sees the party is just as bad off as he is, he springs into action again, pulling another oil flask from his pouch.

"Hey! Guys! It turns out that these things really hate fire. Well, being burned to death by it, anyway. I killed a bunch of orcs back there, but nobody really even noticed, so maybe it will work on these big ugly ones too?"

He tosses the flask over the front line, into the center of the oncoming uruks, his good fortune finally starting to run out on him.

Thrown item [1d20+3] = 7+3 = 10 :?

3 flasks removed from sheet.

The Lost Halls of the First ElvenKing, Mountains of Mirkwood, Rhovanion, Middle Earth
Night. March 22, Year One of the Fourth Age
Day Four. Damp, cold

The tides of war rapidly turning against them, the Company stand resolute. They retaliate with devastating results!

The Uruks front line is sundered by Elbenarin, Therone, Gilly and Red! Together they smite to the ground the enemy that stands in their path. Three Uruks fall before their righteous wrath! (U4, U6, U8)
Image
But more brutal monsters roil forth to take their place! They lunge into battle with wanton savagery but the heroes repel the attack, beating down cruel blades with shields, swords and an adamant resolve.

Meanwhile, behind the lines, Naruthirdor vigilantly keeps watch upon their rear flank, the desolate, thorn filled vale of shadows.

Folco the hobbit, emboldened by his astonishing success, shatters a crystal flask of oil into a stone wall deep in the Uruk ranks!

Glasik cannot fill the hole in the battle line before his sister beats him to it. The frustrated dwarf makes himself useful by dragging the lifeless form of Rumil back from the fray, that Tinuwen may heal the bloodied warrior with the renowned grace of the Elves (+4hp). But the fallen hero does not rise!

Naruthirdor smiles seeing Folco in the corner of his eye, and alive! His smile widens uncharacteristically as he sees, and hears, the flask of oil shatter amongst the Uruks. While loath to lose his torch, Naruthirdor sees a perfect opportunity to wreak havoc amidst the orcish ranks, and he tosses his torch toward the oil, careful to avoid singing the hair of the rangers in front of him:
C'mon now TORCH! [1d20] = 11 Image
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Therone

Therone continues pressing the attack, not wanting to lose the momentum the Company has gained. She attacks (U5) again.

[1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21 sword
Longsword s/m [1d8+1] = 1+1 = 2

Casts Cure Light Wounds on Rumil.

Folco tosses another flask of his precious oil into the ranks of the ugly monsters stabbing at his friends. He tries to break it right in the middle of their numbers.

Thrown item [1d20+3] = 12+3 = 15

If Naruthirdor's torch wasn't enough to spark the oil, the hobbit tosses his smoldering punk into the fray as well.

"I killed your sisters over there with some of this hot stuff. Careful though, it turns white hands black!"

Glasik Ironfoot

Glasik stands ready to step in if any of his companions should fall, or an opening should appear in some other fashion.
Battle Axe (17): [1d20] = 2; Damage: [1d8+4] = 3+4 = 7
At least if I still can't attack, I'm not wasting good rolls. :D

The Lost Halls of the First ElvenKing, Mountains of Mirkwood, Rhovanion, Middle Earth
Night. March 22, Year One of the Fourth Age
Day Four. Damp, cold

In the orc tunnels near the First ElvenKing's Halls, the ferocious clash of steel echoes in the deep!

Elbenain the Dunedain and Gilly the dwarf are both hacked by vicious Uruk blades (4hp and 5hp damage respectively), and are brought that much closer to death!

Naruthirdor and Folco throw torch and oil into the Uruk's ranks and neither hits their mark! An iron shod heel stamps out the torch, allowing the shadows to gather nearer.

Black smoke from the bonfire of orc corpses begins to fill the western hall as Tinuwen continues her merciful ministrations to the lifeless Rumil (+4hp). The fallen elf warrior is restored to life!

Fearless Uruk-Hai soldiers beat back the weapons of Gilly and the Dunedain rangers with shields bearing the white hand of Saruman!

And in the thick of the battle, the elf maidens Gilwennen wounds a bloodthirsty marauder (U10) as Therone and Red the dog overcome another murderous Uruk (U5), smiting the cruel brute with elvish steel and bright fangs!

Therone

Good Dog! Therone barely pauses before she attacks the next of the Uruk (U9).
[1d20+1] = 7+1 = 8 sword
Longsword s/m [1d8+1] = 3+1 = 4
Failing that, she shouts: It's not too late to surrender, Uruk-Hai!

Gilly

Bloodied and exhausted, Gilly feels this ain't gonna end well, but then laughs aloud to see Red jump in and help take down an Uruk!
"Ha! That's my boy!" she says, and then adjusts her grip on her pick and smashes the foe in front of her with a vicious strike!
Footman's Pick: [1d20] = 18 Damage: [2d4+1] = 6+1 = 7

Red attempts to grab another one, but his fangs cannot find a hold on the Uruk's tough hide.
Red Attacks: [1d20] = 7 Bite Dmg: [1d4] = 4
Winter is coming...

Glasik Ironfoot

Seeing his companions continue to get injured, the dwarf grows more frustrated. Gripping his axe tightly, he waits in the event a space opens. C'mon, Gilly girl, he mutters.
