Grimnail, feeling his head clear of the weakening musk and strength returning, dodges the treacherous javelin attack and returns the favor
Throwing axe:[1d20+4] = 19+4 = 23 Thac0:20 Damage:[1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5

Strom is furious with himself. He is a highly trained warrior and he hasn't been able to do much of anything. With a cry of rage he attacks the Trog before him once again:
[1d20] = 20
[1d8+1] = 3+1 = 4
about time!

Nice! Don't forget to roll your confirmation To Hit, though!

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
You get max damage on a crit. Roll another ToHit, if THAT crits as well *BOOOYA* Otherwise if it also HITS you do 1.5 max dmg! WIN/WIN

No, a druid does not have the same healing spells as a cleric. Sorry!saalaria wrote:Dave does he not have the same options as a cleric in terms of switching in healing spells? If not - arrgghh!

LOL. Actually if Strom did 9 dmg from crit alone....
Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Need an important initiative roll for round 10.
No pressure.

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Ok here is my other to hit roll
[1d20] = 7
I have no idea what this means now.
I think it means I did 9 dmg
or 13 dmg if its 1.5
or 18 if its double.

Edit: Checked the roll logs to see if an initiative roll was made and just not posted. There was:dmw71 wrote:... umm, very!dmw71 wrote:important initiative roll

Initiative [1d10] = 1
An extremely fortunate roll.

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
That is correct. Per the Critical Hits and Misses post, you automatically do maximum damage on a natural 20. You also make a second to-hit roll. You automatically do maximum double damage on a second 20, or x1.5 damage on a second hit. If this second roll is a miss, you still do that maximum damage for your initial hit.Computer +1 wrote:I think it means I did 9 dmg

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Ahhh now I understand. I wasn't familiar with this process since Strom prefers not to hit anything!

I tried to post that imitiative but couldn't access the rolls for some reason...
Round 10
In an important act of efficiency, the group acts before the monsters.
Grimnail, Strom (+20xp) and Epsilon all manage to hit and kill their opponents (e6,e11,e10). Even Kaltar hits his foe (e12), but the beast manages to stay alive, and in what will likely be its final action, it stabs the cleric with its javelin (-3) as it takes a few defensive steps away.
---
A momentous round!
Not only does the smell dissipate and everyone's full strength return, but there is only a single, extremely damaged creature left facing the group.... at least for the moment.

at least for the moment?!?!?!?!
Grimnail retrieves the hand axe from the dead trog. He crawls to the nearest structure and attempts to bandage some of the many claw and bite marks.
By all the gods, My purse for a mouth full of wine!
Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
TooleyC I think you can be initiative man going forward!
I am assuming its just Kaltar and Ep facing the last trog currently, if not I will change the below action:
Kaltar takes another swing:
Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 1 Dam [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2
This has been the most ridiculously unlucky battle in D&D history!
Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 18 Dam [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4

Feeling his strength return, Ewell will charge towad e12 and attack.
longsword to hit (+3 str bonus): [1d20+3] = 8+3 = 11 , damage1d8 (+4 str bonus): [1d8+4 ] = 5+4 = 9
I cant remember (without looking) if he gets an attack boost for charging with a sword like he would have with a lance...
^Don't forget to roll your 50/50 to see if you break the mace. you can walk around with worthless weapon pieces like Ewell does.

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Strom sees Kaltar attacking and Ewell moving over to attack. He looks around to see who is still able to move in the party. DM can you give us a list of everyone's condition. He will then rush to move the injured closer to the main party for healing and bandaging. To the most critically hurt he will Lay Hands to help stabilize them.
As he works he calls to those who can hear, There is at least one more large group of enemies approaching. We will not survive meeting them. We must carry those who cannot walk and move away with haste!

"Gruumshs' buttock but dems don't give up!" Grim growls while bandaging his wounds.
"How many gotta litter da street wit corpses 'fore dems quit? "
When able he will move towards the main group, scooping javelins as he goes.
