Rhapsody in Blood
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Ruarc watches and waits, getting familiar with the area, and awaiting to hear what the others have found and learned.

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Doesn't Scotty get a hearing roll as well as the Barbarian? I know Scotty does, and I believe Ruarc has it as an ability.
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Scotty is too busy looting homes to hear anything.
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Okay, so some more time passes, and eventually, you hear traces of voiced from on top of the houses somewhere.
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
D'arqo glances upwards toward the voices, trying not to be too conspicuous about his curiosity.
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Scotty will approach the voices, informing them of the rot grub infestation and trying to get a closer look.

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
D'arqo can tell that they're coming from the roof of the house but can't quite pinpoint the source.
Scotty walks towards the house, looking for a source of the noise, but he can't seem to find one. It's possible there's something concealed on the roof.

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Is there a shaded, relatively unobserved portion of this house?
The Elf will amble toward the structure, trying not to get too close to Scotty, yet keeping him in sight.

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
There are, in fact, a few places on the roof/in between the buildings you think someone could be hiding. The shape of the roofs here are somewhat irregular.
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Scotty will continue forward towards the source of the voices.
"Hail friends. I have been commissioned by the mayor to warn all residents of the rot grub infestation in this area of the town. Please, I wish to speak with you."

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
As soon as it's clear you're speaking to them, their talking ceases. You don't know if they're still there or if they're going away. You can neither see nor hear footsteps.
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
D'arqo will sullenly approach a shaded area between buildings, if possible. After being certain no one else is near, he'll give silent signal of his intentions to Scotty. He'll attempt to climb walls to get to the roof, if such hand/footholds exist. (Window ledges, conerstones, & such.)
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
I'd say you can attempt those actions. If you wish to accomplish them successfully, please roll for Move Silently as well as Climb Walls. Also, what spell do you have memorized for the day?
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Move Silently needs 20%. (Eeek!)
[1d100] = 98
D'arqo nearly trips over his thumbs.
Climb Walls needs 85%.
[1d100] = 26
He can climb, but not quietly.
Spell is still Shield. BTW, does he get his dex bonus on top of this spell?

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
D'arqo scales the house, and winds up on the roof. He can tell that the people detected are trying to escape. But will he get there first? He gets a peek over the top of the roof, and he can discern two female figures wearing handkerchiefs over their heads to mask themselves. Does he pursue them further, or does he go back down and discuss what to do with the others?
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Scottyyyyyyyyy! the Elf whisper-yells below, and motions for his footpad companion to get up there fast. When he loses complete sight of the duo, he will bolt to the peak of the rooftop he is on to see where they head. No WAY is he going after them alone!
This is so cool. My roomate in the Marines was Cpl. Scott, or Scotty. "Scottyyyyyyyyyy!" Man what a flashback!

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
Go ahead and role-play this out you two. As for what you see over the peak of the roof... You think they're trying to sneak in between another crevice in the rooftop.
Re: Rhapsody in Blood
"What is it?" Scotty asks as he climbs up on to the house.
Climb Walls (25%) = [1d100] = 20
If he sees anyone running away he will signal the companions and bolt after them.

Re: Rhapsody in Blood
D'arqo glances back at his companion briefly and does a silent triple-point over the roof peak toward their quarry to emphasize the urgency. He'll try to keep his eyes on them, or at least where they are headed.
