Re: Chapter 4: Dungeon of the Daleks
I forgot this one. Overnight Healing (Con: 15) [1d100] = 75
Dex Check (16) [1d20] = 16 -2 = 14
Chaka feels a little stupid all of the sudden. He tries to let the others know that he is somehow still alive in a quiet, muffled tone.
"Mishtake! Mig Mishtake!!! Bing Chaka bak don, pleas."

Fiefo’s eyes go wide. “I knew it!” he practically squeaks. Though he’s not surprised the experiment proved to be a total disaster, he is surprised at the method, and at the revealed stairs. “Well, let’s scrape Chaka off and get moving. We can’t go back the way we came,” he says, not yet aware that Chaka isn’t completely dead yet.

Hang on there, Fiefo. Chaka is still quite alive, if somewhat squashed.
Chaka, are you still in one piece?
If no one else has done so, Tullia will pull the lever back down slightly, in hopes the pyramid will release Chaka.

Re: Chapter 4: Dungeon of the Daleks
Ko-Nan shakes his head at the folly of messing with a wizards toys. Only his long quest keeps him going in the tower. He peers into the hole revealed for any of the cowardly wizard machine things.

Maskelyn
Maskelyn steps back from the pyramid, not interested in having his goods stolen by it. For the Gods' sake, get him down!

Jeojand watches Chaka become plastered to the ceiling and holds his gaze for a long moment. "…Fascinating. Let's get him down. Everyone be mindful of yourrrr limbs."
Assuming that no one has the capacity to fly up there and peel him off the ceiling, Jeojand slowly brings the lever back toward a middle position, then lower, hopefully easing the inverted pyramid safely to the ground.

The Dead Wizard's Skyscraper
Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Three. Late Morning, March 27th, 912 CY

Crushed and pinned to the ceiling, Chaka cries out from atop the immense iron pyramid!
Ko-Nan advances and peers into the newly revealed hole beneath it!

The savage barbarian sees strange witch lights flickering to life at the bottom of a white glossy stairwell. Suddenly, Ko-Nan's steel weapons become ensorcelled by magicks black and insidious! His ax springs to life, rising up with a will of its own!
Maskelyn steps back and his possessions once more succumb to the law of gravity.
Tullia and Jeojand slowly bring the 'Tower Access' lever back toward a middle position trying to ease the inverted pyramid safely to the ground. To no avail.
Instantly, the pyramid regains its terrible mass. It plummets down, narrowly missing Ko-Nan's head, and crashes back into the hole!
BOOM!
Once more it appears to all the world as nothing more than a square steel plate resting on the floor. And suddenly, Ko-Nan's weapons seemingly return to normal.
(Chaka takes 2 hp in falling damage. Due to the proximity of the falling pyramid, I'll allow a Save vs Dex on 1d20 to take half damage.)
Actions?!

The Gnome steps onto the square, kneeling to check on Chaka. Don't move yet- let the clerics look at your wounds.

Chaka wants to tell the gnome that the group only has half of a cleric left, but he nearly passes out from his painful wounds instead.

LL does his best to bind the ape boys wounds.

Ko-Nan eyes his weapon suspiciously - waiting for it to act up again. As nothing happens after a minute or so he will help with the reckless ape-boy.

Jeojand marvels at the supernatural powers of magnetic energy. "What a trrrruly wondrous facility we are in. Everyone back, by the door. We do not anyone else to be harmed."
Waiting patiently until everyone is safely away from the metal pyramid, he throws the switch again to reveal the stairs below.

When the pyramid is against the ceiling again, Maskelyn makes a circuit around it, studying the ceiling. Is there any sort of dent/depression/compression of the ceiling around the pyramid?

The Dead Wizard's Skyscraper
Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Three. Late Morning, March 27th, 912 CY

After poor Chaka is helped to his feet and his wounds tended to, everyone moves safely away from the inverted pyramid disguised as a steel plate.
Then Jeojand throws the lever again and the steel pyramid hurtles into the ceiling once more!
CRASH!
The glossy white stairwell hidden beneath it is revealed again. (at '9')
Maskelyn closely examines the flying pyramid's every side, his lantern and dagger magically rising upward again. The gnomish trickster can discern no mark in the stark colorless ceiling.

Careful to place his metal objects inside of his backpack, Jeojand attaches one end of his rope to the backpack and carries the other end. He approaches the stairway, testing whether he can descend the stairs without having his pack fly up to the ceiling.

... approaches the area in the floor cautiously, holding on to her sword. She looks down and studies the staircase for anything interesting.
Let me think aloud here: We are in what is apparently the ground floor of this tower. Much of this area seems to be inhabited by grumpy, rude, and deadly metal monsters. We have opened up a hole in the floor here, she points to the opening, and there is a long, stairway down, wherein "down" should be going into the plateau we climbed. Do we go down or search for a way up?

Re: Chapter 4: Dungeon of the Daleks
"The sign says Tower Access. I mean it's probably a trap, but going down there might lead to a way up. Or maybe the tower is down and all this above us is just a big lightning rod. And maybe the Daleks just patrol this level and we'll leave them behind. But probably they don't and we'll die," says Fiefo. Seeing the ceiling's effect on Ko-Nan's axe, he'll tie his scimitar into its scabbard as securely as he can before carefully approaching. If he feels he's about to be pulled off his feet, he'll stop and back up a step.SpinwardMarch wrote:Tullia

Re: Chapter 4: Dungeon of the Daleks
Chaka decides to let the others investigate the metal trap, knowing that another blunder like his last will kill the injured ape-boy.
He moves back to the doorway and keeps a lookout in the hallways as the others tinker with the device and check the stairway.
"Maybe down is up in this strange place?"
