It's cribbed from a recipe from FoodTV https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/geo ... ff-4700692, but the first time we made it we nearly polished off the entire pot that night, and made it again two days later, and it's become a staple in our meal rotation[/ooc]

Sigrun rises to the challenge of competitive baseline data donation!

By mid jump she looks about for new training opportunities. She invites Sir Baltus to practice tactical manoeuvres through the crew side and hold of the ship adapting her tactics to account for his use of an energy weapon (if he favours his laser rifle).

At dinner one evening she propositions Emily. “If you like we could train together – maybe some light sparring or some range work. We built a temporary range to test fire our crew weapons and I have enough ballistic gel left to put up a pistol target for us to work with”.

Sir Baltus will be quite willing to train, he would love to work on Laser Rifle skill. I've also had a question out to Eris about level-0 skills, he was generated for a pure Classic Traveller game so wasn't given any level-0 skills, if he could get some, I'd love to add Zero-G Combat-0 and Vacc Suit-0. If he doesn't have those skills, he would like to train to acquire them.

OOC: I'll give you Vacc Suit-0 for free, but you'll have to learn Zero-G Cbt. Number of skill Levels + 1 week for ZG-Cbt-0.

Sigrun will arrange to collect Sir Baltus from the passenger quarters. She has her hair braided and is wearing a simple cotton pullover shirt with runic embroidery at the neck and denim trousers. In contrast to her casual outfit she has her big Ulfberht autosnub holstered on her thigh. She grins and rolls her eyes when Sir Baltus notices the pistol "Relax, Imperial húskarl!". Seemingly in cheerful high spirits she explains "The Kapiten has invited you to his table and so you are his guest. If anything happened to you on the way it would be a sleight to his reputation and so I honour both you and him by showing that I take my duties as escort seriously”.

A little later she raises her glass with Pedro echoing “Many more!” and then adds with a smile “Bosmang kapawu*”.

Pedro smiles at the appellation " Tovapalya, sésata, Beltowda!" he toasts back. He turns to Sir Baltus, "We mesticho belters always seem to find each other.", He chuckles.

When they get to the storytelling part he regales them with an only mildly exaggerated version of how he got his nickname "...and I swear, they claimed I had some dirt sticking to the hull from how close I cut that transit ..."

Bobby Rangle is a big, beefy, man of about 40. He is a serious weight lifter and flexes at Zaki and Sigrun more often than makes either of them comfortable. He is bound for Jenghe, first stop, and when you talk to him his two topics of conversation seem to be himself and how much weight he can lift and his "off the wall" theory that "The Jenghe Disaster" (when one of its moons left orbit and crashed into the planet's surface a little over a hundred years ago) was caused by some sort of Zhodani psionic weapon they were testing.

Zaki relates this to Carlos when they are in their cabin.

Two of the passengers, Meriam Lockinvar and Bobby Rangle, seem to be a workout monsters as well.

Meriam seems to be in the workout area every time any of you are in there. She is always wearing a virtual reality headset If you ask her about it she tells you, "I hate jump space, it's the isolation and constantly being confined. When I workout in VR I can forget where I really am." Meriam is scheduled to leave the ship on Extolay, your second stop.

Sigrun replies "This ship is roomy compared to some I have been on. If you really want some space there is room to run in the cargo hold. You would have to be supervised by me at all times but if that is acceptable I will arrange it".

Bobby Rangle is a big, beefy, man of about 40. He is a serious weight lifter and flexes at Zaki and Sigrun more often than makes either of them comfortable. Apparently unimpressed Sigrun stares scornfully at Rangle during his display of flexing.

If he continues she laughs at him.

Zaki will notice Sigrun shift her posture so that her left shoulder points more towards Rangle and her right hand, confidently held on her right hip is very close to the belt pouch she wears in the small of her back when wearing her figure hugging training gear. A little more than a hand’s breadth across the pouch bears a Red Cross logo and has First Aid neatly stencilled on it.

(OOC: Sigrun is used to a Sword Worlds commerce raider filled with semi psychotic pirates operating in half the crew space allocated on Imperial vessels. She’s probably been here before …).

Sigrun replies levelly “Yes it is - it remedies situations that are life threatening”.

With mock sincerity she asks “Zaki, do you really think I am the kind of woman who wanders about the ship unarmed and with her hair unbound?”

She sighs and in one smooth motion reaches behind her and produces a small blunt automatic that barely fills her hand. Clearly the apparently top opening first aid pouch has side access. She hands the large calibre micro pistol over for Zaki to study commenting “It’s a holdout weapon, snub rounds; the clip of four will be enough in the situations in which I would have to use it. I assume that I guessed right and I am not allowed to feed the ravens with the paying guests? Rangle is a danger to women because he thinks they are soft - and yet he’s so open to attack! If I just beat him up and promised not to enjoy it overmuch that would surely be therapeutic all round?”

During jump Pedro will walk around the ship several times, chatting up the passengers, being all captain-like If he catches handsy being handsy, he'll mention to Sir Baltus that he might want to take his charges in hand before they do something rash with the crew, which would likely end poorly for handsy. If he runs into Meriam, he'll find out iof her cabin has a full display suite or not; if not he'll make a note to bring up at a crew meeting the notion to set one cabin up with such; being able to simulate an outdoor environment in the cabin is often beneficial for people like her; he's seen ones that offer visual, audio, gravitic and scent options; belters have made use of such facilities to train and desensitize children for planetside ventures; often Belter folk have the exact opposite of Meriams' claustrophobia.

Setting up at least one cabin for such might be a plus for getting a well-paying passenger who would normally travel on a much larger ship.

The rest of the time he spends with his nose in the engineering texts and pestering Chandra working towards getting his engineering certification.

(OOC: Sigrun & Training (Admin).

Sigrun is currently training Chandra (on shotgun) as well as keeping herself combat ready and also assisting with Zaki’s recovery.

I’m not sure whether she can train anyone else immediately or how long she needs to keep going with Chandra. She started training with him on route to Ruie so they’ve had two complete weeks (there and back) so far plus range training on Regina.

When Chandra's training is complete Sigrun is happy to train with Sir Baltus, which is to the crew’s advantage, but this may be a revenue stream we have overlooked. Since LSP have deep pockets we could charge them for expert instruction of their employee in anti piracy theory and practice (to include Zero G Cbt).

To keep things simple would this fund one VR training course?

A VR equipped stateroom would surely also help with VR training - maybe reducing the required time by facilitating practice rather than theory?

Sigrun’s next personal goal is to improve her Recon skill via VR).
