Round 1 - Ambush!

With the tension rising, the spell casters start their castings. Glimble finishes first and releases a dispel on the Fat man, and for the briefest of moments you don't see the Fat Man. Then the whole world turns red.

Twin fireballs erupt into the main trade way of Skulport. Swelling up into the upper levels a cloud of heat and smoke billows past! Its too dark to see the wreckage yet, but the blasts struck the entire caravan!

Enoka - you won't get your heat metal, you can't really see the targets, you can hold it for round 2 if you'd like!

Glimble shielding his eyes from the fireball blast waits until he can see the fatman or if he is still alive and will cast hold person upon him however if he cannot see the man he will hold his action.

From his vantage point, Vek couldn't see the Fatman disappear like a dispelled illusion. :(
So...


Vek hears the explosion and races around the buildings to the tradeway to see if there's anything left of the Fatman that needs to be hacked apart by his merciless sword.

Enoka, arms up and ready to enact her spell as soon there is a visible target, assuming there is anything left to target.

OCC: In that case Enoka will hold her action and choose the appropriate spell to cast once the smoke clears.

Looking up at the boom and then to Vek. When his teammate rushes out he does too, sword in hand and ready to attack.

ooc: Not sure how you would want to handle this DM, would Forrest be able to have a readied action for in case there are still combatants?

Tella will get off the roof ASAP and try to blend in with the awe struck crowd the best she can, heading toward the rendezvous point.

Roseheart watches the conflagration of fire and thinks that two exploding fireballs is about the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. Shaking his head to clear his awe, he makes his way back out of his ambush spot hiding among the confusion in the streets and looking as surprised and as curious as the other passers-by. He'll take advantage of this confusion to make a subtle retreat to the fat mans castle to take up a position there and wait for the rest of his friends.

Round 2. Ambush!

The magical fireballs quickly burn themselves out in sizzling shrieks which send a final roaring gout of warm air up through the wide road flapping the rope catwalks above.

Witou hesitation Vek is first to large into the street his focus on the zombie powered litter. The zombies have all lost their animation and are now a pile of smoking corpses. The litter is turned over with no sign of the Fat Man.

However, two of the Fat Mans guards survived the blasts, likely due to their considerable armor. They are picking themselves up and making a getaway.

Surveying the scene they were the only two things to survive. Forest slams up behind Vek, weapons readied and also noting that there is really nothing to attack.

Tells and Roseheart begin their descents to street level. Denizens of Skullport begin peeking out of the buildings, but nobody has dared to come closer yet.

Into this moment bursts Garl, yelling run you fools, you've killed us all!. He then quaffs a potion, turns invisible, and yells it out again this time moving down the street toward the heart!


*Enoka and glimble if you want to target the fleeing guards with a spell like Heat metal\ hold person, you can do that as your round 2 action. Optionally you can begin your descent to street level as well. Both of your wizards are hightailing it ;)

Glimble round 2 action cast hold person one the closer of the two guards. After casting the spell the gnome takes after Roseheart and Garl using whatever confusion there is to slip away.

Vek follows the bodyguards to see where they will go, in case its somewhere other than the Fatman's keep, appearing to all the world as just another innocent bystander running for his life from the inexplicable explosion.
Vek's helm hides his evil grin.

Not seeing much sense to attack a flee foe, hold off on casting her spell and quickly descends behind Tella.

Round 3 - ambush aftermath

While tella, Enoka, and Roseheart make thwir way to street level and then toward the meeting point, eyes surveying for a spot to possibly pop into -- Glimble finishes his hold person spell and watches as one of the guards stiffens and then stops in his tracks. The other guard pulls on him for a brief moment, shrugs and then keeps on running. No loyalty amongst this crew apparently.

Vek begins following that guard at a distance, but is almost immediately overtook by a hard charging Forest. Forest runs right toward the guard forcing him to turn and prepare to fight. He pulls forth a wicked looking barbed axe and readies himself.

Tella, Roseheart, and Enoka are now heading toward the heart, Glimble will be close behind, once he gets down the stairs.
Garl is some distance in front of you but now you can't see him. There are eyes from all the buildings now, you aren't sure if you will be able to make an escape into one of those.

Quick update I've been pm messaging wit the invisible Garl. Tella, Enoka, Glimble, and Roseheart will be running for a few rounds.

That leaves Vek and Forest and the Fat Mans guards. If Forest continues to charge roll an attack because he will be attacked.

Inferno, I updated again in the OOC thread about the situation on the street.
