XIII. Flooded Quarry - Trip Two

Fulp quickly whispers,
Dont make it so dark we cant see... Some of us need that thing. I think our archer needs to lead toward the north to hit any f he sees them.

"Sure, he can do that if he wants. Let me do my job and see if there is even anyone there first," Ciar replies.

OOC: there are two Everbright torches; the other should be providing light. Sneaks can't sneak whilst holding a lit torch.

With the rest of the group remaining behind in the southern tunnel, a few paces back from the decisive 'Y' intersection, Ciar covers his reclaimed everlit torch to shield its light and sneaks off to the northeast, towards the cavern with the chasm and the ledges.

Torchlight suddenly spills out from the northeast tunnel which Ciar ventured into several long moments earlier, but no sound is heard as the halfling continues to work quietly.

Fulp moves that direction, hoping Sparrow leads with his arrows...

Grim attempts to get to the front.

"Let me use me darkvision to look south. I can check on our friend Ciar too, 'course"

I believe Ciar went back northeast ... unless you are stating you could do either or, and not both in the above quote...

Fulp begins to slowly move up the northeast passage towards the chamber with the archer platforms, hoping Sparrow will accompany him. Reaching the entry to the chamber, and peering inside, he does not immediately notice anything... except for a small wooden box filled with arrows placed just inside the chamber.

After a few moments, Ciar emerges from the center of the room and rejoins the rest.

[Alethan]

"No kobolds. I checked the tops of all the platforms and found arrows and what looks like pitch or oil or something, but it's old and maybe not usable. Figured we could stock up on arrows while we're here, though." Ciar taps the crate with his foot.

"Let's check out the southeastern passage now, unless there is something anyone wants to do here..."

If nobody speaks up, he heads back down the passage they came from and turns left, keeping his Everbright torch lit so he can more easily locate the pit trap, if it has been covered up again.

[OGRE MAGE]

Sparrow restocks so his arrow supply and readies his bow. He gets into position to follow where his bow will do the most good.

Not exactly high quality arrows but, they should work in a pinch.

"Before moving on" suggests Sylvan, "should we thoroughly check the area beyond the chasm? Or have you done that already Ciar?"

[Alethan]

Ciar shakes his head and replies, "No, I haven't, actually. But I can do that real quick."

Without waiting for a response, he heads back into the cavernous room and examines the walls on the other side to make sure there isn't any other means of egress.

Sorsha will climb the platforms to retrieve her spent daggers, bringing her total back to 12.

[Alethan]

Does Sorsha look happier now?

The knife throwing girl returns to the group, sheathing 2 throwing daggers in wrist sheaths. She still has a look of sadness and her eyes seem to look far away at nothing.

Ciar investigates the rest of the chamber and reports that there are no other exits while Sorsha recovers her knives.

Sparrow turns back to the groups scout.

Let's head south then and see what else we can find in here. Where is that pit trap you were talking about?

[Alethan]

Ciar leads the party down the southeast passage, actively searching for the pit trap...

Whispering just loud enough for Ciar to hear, Sylvan calls to the halfling. "Not to doubt your skills, but I have a dweomer for this very situation."

The young druid pulls a small oak twig and pinch of mistletoe from his many pouches. He winds the mistletoe around the oak twig as he chants

"Let's move quickly, Ciar. I'll call out when we reach danger."

Grim moves along with the group, keepng his eyes peeled.

Ciar frowns. "Kind of a wasted spell, mate. I've already found the thing once. Shouldn't have been too hard to find it again without falling in..."
