OOC I
Re: OOC I
Let's start by having everyone check in, and also post the earliest you'd be able to start.

Re: OOC I
Regarding this, I have posted the same instructions (changing only the campaign ID for the die roller) in each of your threads. If you're a veteran from one of my other games, they will likely feel redundant. That's fine.dmw71 wrote:Please see the ooc thread in your private forum for instructions.
What you'll notice, though, is that everyone will have their own private campaign in the die roller as well, which means that no one else will see your rolls except you and me, as the DM. Once you link a character to the campaign, you'll notice that I've already made an "initialization" roll in it. I will need each of you to make a roll (any roll) in it as well, and post a link to that roll in your private ooc thread. Once I've confirmed that you've made a roll after my initialization roll, you are free to begin the character generation process. Feel free to use the two macros I originally planned on having players use --
STR: [3d6], INT: [3d6], WIS: [3d6]
DEX: [3d6], CON: [3d6], CHA: [3d6]
-- or however else you'd like to do it.
Good luck!

Checking in.
Daily posting is 7 days per week?
also with the private chargen are we allowed to coordinate PCs (for classes), or it is what you roll and choose and figure it all out afterwards? It'd be interesting if we end up with all human MUs, but I figured I'd ask.

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Re: OOC I
I think it would be more interesting to have a party of all dwarves and maybe one halfling and a MU

A party consisting only of dwarves? Now where have I seen that?

Re: OOC I
I'm having some technical issues on my end, so, unfortunately, I'm going to need everyone to sit tight. Sorry!
"Daily" posting is really just M-F, and maybe once over the weekend.
I'm also going to need to ask people to hold off on getting too far ahead in the character generation process.
Generating stats and getting some general ideas is fine, but I have some house rules in mind that might affect decisions.
I've also received some questions about the bonus points. Yes, everyone will get three points they can add to their ability scores. All three can be added to a single stat (max 18), or the points can be spread around.
You can also adjust your stats using the 2-for-1 swap by the rules.
I hope to resolve my issue soon (I have a lot of ideas and updates to make), and will address any questions I haven't answered at that time.
Looking forward to getting started!

Re: OOC I
I think I figured out the issue (my IP address is blocked, probably by the hosting web server), but I also found a temporary workaround -- I can log on if I connect using Free Proxy Server. The downside is, none of the shortcode buttons (e.g. bold, ooc, dialog, etc...) work, so I need to freehand everything. Still, it is so much easier to work from my laptop than it is my phone.dmw71 wrote:I'm having some technical issues on my end, so, unfortunately, I'm going to need everyone to sit tight. Sorry!
I haven't been able to log in all day (except using the 4G network from my phone), so I have a lot of catching up to do. I will attempt to catch up on all outstanding questions tonight.
Re: OOC I
I've been chatting with Greg tonight, and it's been confirmed. As of last night/this morning, they blacklisted my home IP due to suspicious behavior. Apparently they mistook my frantic posting to get this game populated as my being a bot.Zhym wrote:You mean the server hosting Unseen Servant is probably blocking your IP? Weird.
Well, actually, I guess it's possible we do have malware somewhere on our system so that is something I need to look into. My machine came back clean (well, some potentially malicious cookies), but I'll need to check my wife's computer as well. And maybe our other connected devices.
Fun.

Re: OOC I
Uummmm....
I guess this is a good place to post this?
I couldn't access the site all day for some reason. I got on in the morning for a bit but couldn't get the forums to come up until just now.
I did start my character though because I could get the roller up.
I see that others have been posting all day, any idea why this happened?

Re: OOC I
Regarding this, I just discovered my workaround (to access the site via http://free-proxyserver.com/) isn't an ideal solution -- I'm not able to see any die roller character sheets. Well, I can see the form, but no data is populated. (I was going to attach a screenshot of what I do see, but I apparently can't attach images when logged in this way.)dmw71 wrote:I've been chatting with Greg tonight, and it's been confirmed. Hopefully this blacklisting will be short-lived and I'll be back to normal (or, as normal as I get).

Are you stealing my bandwidth and attempting to log onto the website from my home network.OGRE MAGE wrote:I couldn't access the site all day for some reason. I got on in the morning for a bit but couldn't get the forums to come up until just now.
I was able to get onto the die roller (that site has a different host than the forums), but I still can't get onto the --OGRE MAGE wrote:I did start my character though because I could get the roller up.
Check that, Greg just messaged me and was able to clear my IP with the host.
I'm back!
