Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Re: Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Dungeon Master:
Fr. Tenebaum says to Mr. Choe:
"You would have been processed, so to speak, depending on the needs of the various factions' mechanizations."
"I am certain some of the other party is in these very caves."

Wexley:
Wexley begins peering down the corridor of the portcullis - can he see anything with his infravision?

Dungeon Master:
All that Wexley sees is a partly opened wooden door, from what he can tell it looks solid behind the door.

Borum:
Borum, looks down the passage that leads off to the left (as you look at the map straight on). Does he see anything? How far can he see?

Re: Chapter 9: The Cave Exploring Continues
Dungeon Master:
If Borum is using his Infravision he can see up to 60 feet, since that is about 30 to 40 feet straight westward, he could see up to the solid wall & can tell that it branches to the north & south.
With a torch Borum would see clearly down about 15 feet of the passage while up to 30 feet is in shadowy outline. So flickers of faint light would play on the far wall of the west passage.

Lutha Cee:
Lutha, to Ewat: "Not hobbits, Hobs! And a 'treasure chest'. Down the eastern two corridors"Ewat to Lutha: "Hobs? Like what took the merch'nts? Down which way? An' treasure?"
I'm pretty sure Wolfram would say "Yes yes YES! Maya must have the armour and shield, give it-to-her-now!!"I would have to say the plate should go to either Maya or Kormak

Victor:
Victor walks over and settles down next to the unconscious Maya, waiting for the group to finish questioning the Cleric so they can get some help for Maya.

Borum:
"If we can't get any more information from Tenebaum, I suggest we drag him back to the Keep.
There may be a spellcaster or priest there who can read his mind or charm him to cooperate.
Then we can ask the leadership if we can act as their proxy and enforce retribution on the evil worshippers."

Idonea:
"I agree that we should take him back. If everyone's done listening to this white-livered gobshite, shall I gag him?"
"I think the present question is: do we head back now, or continue on to the hobgoblins?
The Lords of the Keep seemed very eager to see the merchants rescued, and more than a bit dismissive of our involvement in the wider scope of hostilities.
And if the hobs move the merchants—assuming they're still alive—we'd be back at square one."

Dungeon Master:
Again as a reminder, here is what the players need to recover:
Hit Points needed for fully Restored Health:
Idonea needs 5 HP
Kormak needs 7 HP
Maya needs 13 HP
Mort needs 4 HP
Wolfram needs 2 HP
I will mark it that Maya will get Fr. Tenebuam's plate mail suit & shield.
Options i see the players considering:
1) Continuing onward deeper into the cave. (someone would have to stay with Maya, don't forget about wandering monsters!)
2) Returning to the Keep to recover & turn in Fr. Tenebaum (& the Goblin?)

Victor:
Victor is for option 2, or at least waiting for Maya to recover.
If majority chooses to move on then Victor will stay back with Maya.

Borum:
"Let's vote - all opposed to going back to the Keep to recharge, say aye!"
Wexley:
"I'm for resting briefly - whether it's in the woods nearby healing on our own, or going back to the Keep."

Lutha Cee & Wolfram:
Lutha: "It does not matter where I go. To the stars or the netherworld...." and sits down, tired
Wolfram, Sheldon style: "Actually, it should be 'all opposed to going back to the Keep to recharge, say no ' or alternately, 'all in favour of going back to the Keep to recharge, say aye' .""Let's vote - all opposed to going back to the Keep to recharge, say aye!"

Victor:
Victor thinks for a moment, "With Maya out of it for now I suppose I get two votes! So, I shall say Aye Aye to going back to the keep to rest!
Perhaps visit the local alchemist or clergy for some healing potions if we can afford them, we could certainly use them if things continue as they have been..."

Borum & Wexley:
Borum and Wexley opt for either returning to the Keep or at least leaving the caves, camping and resting.

Kormak & Mort:
Mort "Aye. Also lets mark this cave so we can distinguish it later should we have need to return here."
Kormak "I'd love to kill some hobs but for now aye."

Dungeon Master:
Ok, Mort marks the cave & you all gather up & your things along with Maya, Fr. Tenebaum & the Goblin & head back to the camp, surprisingly without incident,
you are happy to see the horses are still there as they were tied.
While there you all make a final decision to either move camp or return to the keep to heal up. (It looks like at least 3 days of healing & casting healing spells).
Looks like most would go back to the Keep with only Kormak wanting to stay in camp.

Kormak:
"Even though I'd like to smash some hobs if we need to go back to the keep at least then we can see this traitor to his death."
