Erico looks for a long stick to prod the inside of the bowl with & will then prod around the bowl cautiously, if one is right nearby, otherwise he will use his quarterstaff.

Poking around with a stick, Erico unseats something that at first seems like a rock from its seat in the bottom of the bowl. A little fishing later, he manages to get a red crystal out of the bowl. It is smoothly polished, transparent, and shaped like half of an egg.... Like a sphere that's been cut in half. The flat side of the crystal is about the same size as the "sundial".

Erico, is tempted to get the other piece out of his backpack & fit the two pieces together, especially near the statues or perhaps just go back to the group & fit the two pieces together out of range of the sleeping Gold Dragons.

He ponders this for a moment then decides to head on back to the rest of the group.

Erico grabs up the red crystal and makes his way back. At one point, a small trickle of rocks rolls noisily down the hill. The closest dragon shifts, seemingly in response, but then seems to settle, and return to sleeping. Erico makes it back to the others with the red stone!

Zaid claps Erico on the shoulder. "Well done! We knew you could do it!"

Are you thinking of going back to the trapper's camp, or onward? The town of Kalastar is about two days journey but there's another of these rivers in the way, and it extend far to the west, into the Irminsul Forest.

Well if we have all our gear with us now, i suggest heading to Kalastar, unless someone wishes to do more business at the Trapper's Camp.

The group retreats from the area of the bridge and statues, and returns to their overland journey, turning a bit north and west. As you travel, the group keeps its eyes open, and between their efforts, are able to find enough fresh food to feed 9 people. As you go, you also spot the occasional wild sheep in the surrounding hills, but they pay you little mind.

As the day wears on, the hills grow less pronounced, and the scent of the bay becomes more pronounced. As darkness falls, you reach a small inlet which seems like a pleasant enough place to camp.

In the meantime, Erico has had time to observe the following about the things he took from the statues: The crystals on both are transparent. The one on the sundial thing is colorless, and images seen through it are "doubled". The one on the half-sphere is red, and things seen through it are distorted. The sundial diameter is about the same as the red crystal, but they do not seem to "join" together with any obvious mechanism.

Anything happen when the crystals are placed together at least?

How about when i look through them first with the red crystal in front then in back of the white one?

Lucius scratches his head as he watches Erico attempt to puzzle out how the crystals are used.

Zaid shrugs. "Perhaps something is still missing? Or do we need to perform an incantation of some kind?"

Well we have quite a weay ahead of us, ample time to solve this myster... Now lets go! says Damiane, eager to leave the sleeping dragons behind and get back to finding the grave.
