Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
The adventurers are totally surprised by the large brute, who gains enough time lash out in an instant attack. It roars again while lunging forward and slamming its halberd down against the first intruder it can see, which is Norbold:
Cave inhabitant, to hit: [1d20] = 9, halberd damage: [1d10] = 6
however Norbold, being partly concealed in the opening, luckily gains a +2 AC bonus which means he narrowly escapes the swung weapon - it just grazes the edge of the wall, showering him and Korin with pulverized clay in the process.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Phoenix hearing the growls and not wishing to be alone in here, scuttles up to the others, following their light quickly, his weapons bared.
”pssst. What is it? Can you see? It sounds hungry. Are those ..... gulp. BONES! We’re gonna DIE!” he says rather dramatically.
apologies. Stopped getting notifications. My fault.

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold says to the creature, "Hey now, don't come any closer, we are armed here!", while waving his free hand in a hold it, stop motion.
Quickly to Korin, "Whatever it is has bad table manners, and too lazy to clean up after himself."
Back to the creature, "You now, just stay there, you want us to leave, we can do so peacefully."
Now to Phoenix, "Oh, no we are not, now just calm down."

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Phoenix happily backpeddles along the corridor, keeping his face forward towards all the growling. Coughing, he straightens his robes and and splitters yes yes, quite right. A controlled retreat then.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
'Caller' (perhaps Pyro, as Norbold is the one at the front?) please roll 1d6 for group initiative.
If that comment was for Ox, it should be in blue text . If it was for the DM, then: thanks, I didn't realise that .Thats why we're trying to back out to a better defended position.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
In reaction to this:
A message will now be sent to Pyro via separate PM. The idea is that DM has something to say that can only be interpreted by Norbold, and that Pyro can reply by PM for Norbold about this. If Pyro wants to share this conversation out in open posts - OK; but technically the other PCs aren't really able to "know" what the DM PMs Norbold.
the big creature seems to growl something back to Norbold that sounds like: "Mah'zhaa ? Hohk dann-aee, hohk gang-aee!!" and the sound of melee dies down.Norbold says to the creature, "Hey now, don't come any closer, we are armed here!", while waving his free hand in a hold it, stop motion.

Ox [as NPC]: "Yes gnome friend. What's happening up front. Do you need backup."
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Norbold says to the big brute (whose halberd is now resting by its side): "Eh, deow anh qh'aar Hohk, Sylvan-gha elvin-gha dann, ma' franqa zewz."
It replies: "Deow anh qh'aar Hohk, naee tsuwban ang ? Hohk sim puch. Ha ha ha, broau bazz!. Bu-Tapna pan bazz. Tsuwban me oo gren! "
and points around the cave, laughing, apparently having lost all interest in fighting.

Phoenix listens intently and then spits on the ground in front of him. It sounds almost goblinish. But yet different. I can’t make out the words.”

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Norbold lets out a laugh, then continues talking to the big fella in a language that noone else can understand totally/properly. The only thing you can understand from the gibberish is that he mentions his own name, and his deity Corellon Larethian, when speaking to the brute.
The two continue their conversation in this language....
