Waitlist
While looking up resources for world building (and other related subjects), I kept being drawn to the many 2e sourcebooks I've purchased over the years.
And while 5e is my favorite edition (by a large margin!), I'm sure the pool of players interested in 5e is significantly smaller than those interested in 2e, so I'm considering making this new game the later, or older, edition.
Besides, a part of me is very interested to see how my new edition mindset impacts how I run an earlier edition game. I could definitely feel myself becoming more player-friendly when my LL was winding down, and expect that to continue.
About the Game
I'm almost certain I know what I'm going to run, but it's something I just discovered (and purchased) last night so it is still very much a work in progress at this point.
That said, prospective players can expect the following:
- I prefer a rapid pace of play and expect a daily posting rate;
- A long-running campaign.
- Characters are projected to rise from 1st level into double-digit levels.
- The entire campaign is designed to take years of game time (and, potentially, real time).
- I'm tentatively planning to enforce/require things that take time in the game (e.g. healing, training, etc...).
- Considering this, I'm thinking of allowing players to create two characters (controlling one at a time);
- When one is out of commission, the other can be used (or vice versa);
- Considering this, I'm thinking of allowing players to create two characters (controlling one at a time);
- I guarantee that social interactions will matter;
- While there will be plenty to do underground, a lot of time will be spent above ground as well;
- Player's can control their characters however they want, including resorting to violence at every step, but....
- An evolving set of house rules.
- My plan is to play closely to rules as written, but situations will be clarified on-the-fly, as they occur;
- Answers to player questions will also be added to this living 'house rule' document;
- Monster's will be played to their full ability, which can result in a deadly game.
- Player's are welcome to take advantage of any rule or option in the core rulebooks;
- Anything from the 'complete handbooks' or 'player option' books will be considered upon request;
- Player's are welcome to take advantage of any rule or option in the core rulebooks;
- Plan to track resources (e.g. food, water, ammunition, etc...);
Feel free to express interest, ask questions, etc... now, knowing that I have much prep work to complete and this game, should it happen, likely won't start for a week a so.
