I've become mildly infatuated with Alex Schroeder's Hex Describe generator/website (https://campaignwiki.org/hex-describe/) and am curious as to how it plays as the basis for a Hexcrawl. With that in mind...

I am looking for 5-7 players to run a wilderness hexcrawl. For the content, I'll be generating a "world" using Hex Describe and tweaking it a bit as we go for clarity and maybe consistency (although I'm not sure that will be needed). In addition, I would like to use this opportunity to learn Swords and Wizardry Complete. We'll be using a mostly by the book version although some extra bits will be clarified/codified as we go to make it clear for the type of game. There will also be the potential to gain henchmen at the start and as play progresses, if so desired. Players will start out probably somewhere in the level 3 range (I will set a starting XP).

Posting expectation is 5 times/wk. Fingers crossed that brave folk can be found to explore these unknown lands.

Seriously though, don't be surprised if I borrow some of your hexcrawling systems. Once we get some other characters, we can start with character creation.

Here's a little taste of the content that has been generated for us:

Sybilla's Stream flows down from the hills to the North through the town of Bitterpan and out into the large inland sea known as the Cold Grave. During evenings, children from the town come down to the mouth of the river to watch the Nixies splashing in the confluence. For the first time in anyone's memory however, the nixies have changed their ritual and an almost palpable sense of sadness fills the air as they bathe. In addition, some of the children whisper that the fey creatures are missing some of their number.

Character Creation

Character Sheet
We will use the Unseen Servant Dice Roller and Character Sheet for everything. I've requested a forum setup and will update this thread when we have a Campaign ID.

Ability Scores
-Roll 3d6 in order down the line
-You can swap 2 scores to cusomtize a bit
-You can also sacrifice 2 ability points from one ability to raise one prime requisite ability 1 point. This may be done more than once, but no ability can be lowered below 9

Further Customization
-I kind of love using Castle Oldskull's Dungeon Delver Enhancer to give characters additional flavor and a small boost to to some combat abilities. I won't be using every option the supplement gives but if you are interested, I'll give you three different class appropriate 'kits' for you to choose from. This step is entirely optional.

We can take another PC. I'll go ahead and add you to the forum. Check the character creation rules just to double check what's needed. Please also roll your character numbers in the roller for the game. Also, the group is returning to a town which makes a convenient place to start posting from - so jump right in. We'll finish Egbald on the way.

I'm pretty sure I linked Egbald's rolls to the campaign in the US dice roller. I did roll stats twice because I just couldn't figure out the first set ... then swapped DEX and CHR.
