Reverse Dungeon - Another request
Is it at all possible to have an "archive" area in my game added to move old content to that the players can all still see in other words i have some locked stuff that was used initially but is no longer pertinent for the next direction the game is going I merely am looking for something i can move locked things to out of the way so players are less confused as to what to reference in the current active game.

Could you do something like this?GreyWolfVT wrote:Is it at all possible to have an "archive" area in my game added to move old content to that the players can all still see in other words i have some locked stuff that was used initially but is no longer pertinent for the next direction the game is going I merely am looking for something i can move locked things to out of the way so players are less confused as to what to reference in the current active game.

Re: Reverse Dungeon - Another request
I guess so but that's not exactly what I was shooting for was more like how the private forum in game shows elsewhere and i just move entire topics to it rather than one post at a time. If not possible that is ok as i just lock topics that are no longer active/live.

Re: Reverse Dungeon - Another request
I'm sure it's possible to create a public sub-forum like we do a private one with some tweaks to our normal process, but as it's a change that I haven't made that change before, and may take some time and testing to make sure it's working correctly, it's not something I'll be able to jump into right away.GreyWolfVT wrote:I guess so but that's not exactly what I was shooting for was more like how the private forum in game shows elsewhere and i just move entire topics to it rather than one post at a time. FYI... You can move entire topics at the same time; not just one post at a time. Maybe my original suggestion is something you can do in the interim?

I'll give it a shot Dave. Thank you.

Re: Reverse Dungeon - Another request
Perfect example of what I was aiming for is like in this game viewforum.php?f=477
Where Ogre Mage has a completed section is that using the same method you initially suggested Dave?

Thanks for the example. I'll be sure to look into how it's set up once I'm able to start working on it.GreyWolfVT wrote:Perfect example of what I was aiming for is like in this game viewforum.php?f=477

It looks like instead of Private/Personal forums (like a lot of DMs have for just the DM and one player) OM has that one forum set up.
Or do I have that wrong?
Interesting.

Interesting.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Re: Reverse Dungeon - Another request
I'm thinking it's the same setup as a private forum, but with different in permissions. I'm not sure, though, and don't have time to really look into it now.rredmond wrote:It looks like instead of Private/Personal forums (like a lot of DMs have for just the DM and one player) OM has that one forum set up.

Probably tomorrow (unless someone else wants to jump in before then).

hi
I don't want to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, and I'm not exactly sure what version phpbb you're using, but from my experience of phpbb when you create the forum there's a drop-down which let's you select if you want to copy permissions from an existing forum.

This should be done.GreyWolfVT wrote:Is it at all possible to have an "archive" area in my game added to move old content to that the players can all still see
A new public sub-forum named 'Archive' has been created, and I believe it to be correct. If you have any problems or questions with it, definitely post them here and we can address them.
Thanks.

Re: Reverse Dungeon - Another request
Worked well but i must have goofed something up because now i have all of these icons that say Moved and so far i cannot figure out how to remove those plus the archive location i do not appear to have mod rights for.

I deleted the Shadow Topics.
I believe when you move a topic, you should have an option to keep Shadow Topics. You want to make sure you do not keep shadow topics.

I also attempted to adjust your security level on the Archives topic. Hopefully that helps? Can you check it out and let us know here?

Re: Reverse Dungeon - Another request
Thank you I will remember that for the next time I move anything. I did just check and now I do have the moderator control panel in the archive area that I did not have prior looks like you got me all fixed. TYVM AlethanAlethan wrote:I deleted the Shadow Topics.
