The last two games I've set up were for my own games, so I've been getting lots of practice. I have the steps for private forums memorized.

Modifications to the Lab Lord: North Marches game:
viewforum.php?f=353

Add new public sub-forums:
(IC) Settlement - Halls of the Dwarven-King
(IC) Settlement - Town of Amistad
(IC) Settlement - Bastion of Eruanna's Flame

Add new Usergroup:
Lab Lord: The North Marches - DMs

Add a new sub-Forum with access by that usergroup:
DM Discussions

Add new private forums (rights to that individual and Marullus):
DM Notes - Zhym
DM Notes - Alethan
DM Notes - Starbeard
DM Notes - Rusty Tincanne


We're undergoing a fun transition here!

I'll take a stab at these, but we may need to call upon Greg's expertise if I (or Ethan, or Ron) can't figure it out.

This is "done," but with the exception of the private individual forums, I'm not convinced that anything else is set up correctly.


Take a look, and definitely point out any issues you (or your players) are having and we can examine and fix.

Thanks! I see them all created. I'm checking with the players to make sure rights are properly working before I start populating information into them.

Two more things:
- Can you make a private player sub-forum for "Baldorar"?

And,
- Can you re-organize the display order of the forums so it goes: "DM" sub-forums, "IC" sub-forums, and then Player sub-forums?

Your latest requests have been completed (I really wish there was a “jump to top” option to move the forums around, instead of needing to move them each up or down one step at a time).

Which almost makes me hesitant to ask, but do you want your player sub-forums alphabetized? I only ask because I know that’s how I’d want them.


Obviously, feel free to let us know if you’re having issues with any of the changes made.

Running for three years and 20,000+ posts, I am used to the "oldest first" order. And, since I am the only person who sees all the player forums instead of just one, I don't see the need for a painful alphabetization exercise just for me.

I appreciate the effort to get the DM and IC items grouped!

So far, it looks like people are seeing rights correctly.

I have to admit, I'm a little surprised to hear this... but pleasantly surprised.

Let us know if any issues crop up, or if you change your mind about the order of your player subforums.

I'm not sure if we can do this? If so, I'm not sure how.

I'll look around in the admin settings, but this may be a Greg thing (or an impossible thing).

We were discussing among us players/GMs - some can do this ourselves and some cannot. Is it possible to grant me the right admin privledges to redesignate ownership of posts within my game forum? As I delegate out to sub-GMs, I'm going to need to repeat this process for a lot of threads.
