That's racist.

I wonder how many people outside my office heard me laugh at that. Well done, ChubbyP

Thx
Your original estimate was correct: one arrow.

Fyi, all arrows fired, whether they hit or miss, have a 50% chance of being recovered for reuse. It takes one minute to check one arrow.

Hi Socratic,
As per PHB p. 38: "...against stunned, prone, and motionless opponents, any weapon strikes at +4." :)

Should I also roll damage?
Hi Zhym,
Torch attacks on these undead get a -2 to hit, because they are soaking wet. But that won't apply to Avril.

Yes, please roll 1d6 damage. Thanks.

Thanks. Does Grothnak's strength bonus to damage apply to a torch attack?

Hmm. The way I envision torches in battle is that the wielder is using its flame to burn the target, not to beat them with the torch like a club. In this case, damage is 1d6 with no strength damage bonus.

But if you want to use the torch as a club, I'll say you can add your strength damage bonus, and a 50% chance that the torch goes out.

Makes sense.

I've edited my post to add the damage from the torch.

Inferno,

Can we tell whether Avril's sword has fared any better against the slime than the rest of her?

"Put me out of my misery!"

Grothnak looks at halberd. Lifts torch. Ssssssssssssss!

Sound like there should be some backstory in Bo and Grothnak's biography:

Still reeling from their failed hospice venture, the unlikely duo embarked on a career of adventure.

Hi wolfpack,
This action will take more than one round because Brevos doesn't have a lit torch prepared. Also, Brevos may require some help handling arrows, a bow, a lit torch and oil simultaneously. For example, when firing the first flaming arrow with both hands, where is the lit torch and the second arrow? :)

Usually flaming arrows are prepared in advance, where something flammable is affixed to the arrow (reducing range, and chance to hit in exchange for setting flammables alight). Archers usually have a brazier or fixed flame to light each arrow from just before nocking and firing.

Also, I didn't mean to give the impression that the undead are extremely flammable. They're not:

One undead was soaked in oil first, and the other died from torch damage, so I wrote it had burned up. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.

Please let me know if you'd like to proceed with this multi-round attack, and if you'll try to recruit another set of hands to help. Thanks. :)

in that case skip the fire and just shoot arrows at the same one he hit last time
