Background:
Ogre was born to a single mother who did not care for his ugly appearance. He was blessed with both great strength and excellent health. His appearance led to teasing by other children until Ogre first realized his strength and beat a much older boy bloody. From that day on other kids his age avoided him in fear.
As he got older Ogre knew his own limitations enough to seek out jobs that he was more suited for. After several stints at heavy labor Ogre decided he would rather fight as a way to make money. He began with simple jobs, bodyguard, intimidator, thug and would have probably ended in an early grave had he not been crossed paths with a retired veteran. The veteran, a much older man, gave Ogre a beating he would never forget and in doing so earned his respect. Ogre wanted to learn how to fight like a professional so he sought after the veteran for training. The man led him to the guard of a minor noble and Ogre’s training began.
Ogre has been out on his own as a sword for hire for a few years now. He is pleased to be accepted into the current group of adventures he runs with although at times he can get frustrated with what he feels is a lack of respect he is given.

Appearance:
Ogre is not a handsome man. He is tall and long, with thick muscles bulging everywhere. His hair is long and unkempt and he rarely takes off his armor with has picked up a pungent odor. Aside from the smell his armor and weapons are kept in top shape, a discipline instilled in him from his training.

Yeah, I know I'm WAAAAAYYYYY late to this party; but I always thought it was kind of neat to here about the re-arranging of letters for characters' names in the early days as well; i.e. "Tenser" (Ernest); "Drawmij" (Jim Ward); etc.

I've followed this philosophy with most of my characters on this site as well; Vax Elam (Max Vale); etc. Another sheep in the herd....baaa...:)

And I am ubber-late to this party as well. I just wanted to say that "Vax Elam" sounds like a very cool name.

Heack, I´ve used quasi-Gygaxian word games to come up with names for some of my PC's in the UA forums too. It works and sounds cool. :)
