Round Three Summary - G1, G2, G3: Against the Ghouls
Enemy Initiative [1d6] = 2
Buryl's flesh on the side of his neck has a creeping, frosty feeling where the claws had raked him. His vision swims before him and darkens momentarily, but he overcomes the sensation and continues the struggle.
Abi, meanwhile, runs out through the open entrance of the tomb into the darkening sky and rain that begins to pound almost in time with her exit. She looks up in horror as the thought immediately dawns on her--if these creatures are simply afraid of sunlight, the sky out here will hold no danger for them any longer.
Back inside the tomb: Bertram, Galen, and Buryl make quick work of the creature. Quirin keeps a keen eye on the darkness, awaiting the imminent arrival of more of the ghastly (oops, I mean ghoulish) creatures. Their piercing calls rise above the din of battle, ever closer.
You estimate that more of the things will be arriving next round.
Actions and initiative!

"We need to get out of here."
Bertram will hurry the others along and run while they still have a chance.
"Abi, get the oil!"

As soon as the creature is down and he sees that Buryl is still moving, Galen is running for the exit.

Quirin turns and runs.

You guys haven't even made it within sight of the body yet...
Re: Expedition - Quirin/Dwarves III - 5 April, 1 VC
I'll need an initiative roll too.

Quirin may or may not be panicking at this point.Keehnelf wrote:You guys haven't even made it within sight of the body yet...
Don't let me roll initiative [1d6] = 6

Abi takes 3 pints of oil from her pack and begins pouring it on the floor inside the entrance. "Hurry everyone!"

Round Four Summary:
Enemy Initiative [1d6] = 3
The party, spooked by the noise of incoming monsters, bolts as soon as the ghoul seems definitively dropped, rushing toward the entrance in a mass. They cross nearly half the distance to the opening, and should almost reach the point at which Abi is laying out the oil next round.
Abi, you can only pour out one flask per round, but you can scatter/shatter up to three flasks in a single round--which will you be doing?
Mis locked the die roller--made a d100 loot roll accidentally; ignore that.
Buryl, bringing up the rear of the fleeing party as he had to disentangle himself from the ghoul, looks back over his shoulder and hears the meaty slap-slap of bare feet feet on stone accompanying the appearance of four more of the creatures out of the darkness.
As they burst into the outermost ring of torchlight, the fighter sees that they are running on all fours, using their strong legs to propel them forward and maintaining motion with their clawlike hands. Such a movement would be impossible among the living, but their macabre transformation seems to have lifted the restrictions of the flesh, allowing nothing but their raw animalistic rage and hunger to guide them.
Though the ghouls are fifty feet or so behind the party, it is clear that they are moving much faster.
Actions and initiative!

I wish they were only bears!
Buryl sees these unnatural beasts and runs even faster then he ever thought he could.
When/if he gets to the exit, he runs past the oil and hopes like hell these things don't like fire.

50 feet away from us, maybe we got a chance.
Bertram continues sprinting.

Round Five Summary:
Enemy Initiative [1d6] = 4
The creatures sprint forward, full-tilt, toward the rearmost party members, while the party flees with all haste toward the exit. Only Quirin makes it past the oil this round: the remainder of the party members are still about ten feet shy, and the ghouls less than twenty feet behind them now. They are silent, apart from the slapping of their feet on stone--not even breath stirs their chests. Behind, in the darkness, another chorus of shrill cries arise. More are coming.

"LIGHT THE OIL! LIGHT THE OIL!" Krysta screams, running with all her strength, knowing she'd rather suffer a few burns than be clawed and eaten by ghouls.
