The Mines of Dwelf Copperhelm

You are in a large, hexagonal chamber (40 feet across) of smooth stone lit from a pale glow. Giant marble doors are atop a set of wide stairs to the north. An open exit is to the west (you came from the east). The blue glow emanates from a large, circular pool of clear water perhaps a foot deep. Circumscribed around and on the top of the stone wall containing the water are glowing runes. Ruby gulps a mouthful the water and immediately feels full, as if she has eaten a meal. No ill effects are apparent after a few minutes.

OOC: kjc, did we roll another hit die for Arsenios when he leveled up? He should have 2d6 HD at second level, but maybe he started low? I don't have it in my notes.

Ruby will empty out her wineskin and fill it with the marvelous elixir of yon fountain!

Drizzle
Drizzle will do the same with his waterskin. He will also attempt to read the runes, wishing he had his Read Languages spell handy.

[1d20] = 8
Despite his intellect, Drizzle is not able to make headway with the runes. He is, however able to make out the ancient Celtic rune for Math the Neutral Wizard. He surmises more information would only come from a learned Sage in the seat of the realm, Fingford.
OOC: You would all know that Fingford is located about 15 leagues north, through a mountain pass. I'll get a map of the general area up at some point.

Adrog
Adrog reluctantly refills his water skin, not sure doing what everyone else does is wise, but at least we're all in the same mine shaft now.
OOC: BTW still need update on my char sheet with damage for weapons and whatever other details are missing

Damage is 1d6 for all weapons, so no need to really track it, unless you want to pre-add your bonuses.

OK, let's keep it moving, I have Arsenios' character sheet in google docs for now.
You have the open exit to the west, and the one you entered from back to the east. The stairs up to the large, double doors you suspect are barred from the other side, since you noticed that where you entered in the great hall, which is most likely on the other side of those doors.
Peering west with your light, you can just see the westward corridor branches north and south about 30 feet along. Beyond that you cannot see.

Drizzle
Let's keep exploring. The west is best for now, he says as he walks down the hall and looks up the corridor at the junction.

Ruby softly clears her throat...
Step aside mage, this is where I earn my silver!
Ruby pads softly down the western corridor with nary a sound...she hopes.

Drizzle is unencumbered and walks faster than armored or sneaking PCs...and so reaches the intersection first
Drizzle walks west and enters the intersection.
[1d6] = 2
<click>
...as he peers right into the gloom, Drizzle sees the corridor goes only 10 feet before ending in a wall. The wall is peculiar in that it contains a large, bearded face in bas-relief with an open mouth in the shape of a large 'O'. He scarcely has time to notice the details, however, as you all hear a 'WHOOSH' followed by a high-piched whistle that fades even as Drizzle is knocked off his feet by a mighty blast of heat.
[1d20] = 7 Drizzle save vs. breath attack
Ruby, who is the closest, sees Drizzle enter the intersection, hears the loud WHOOSH, and sees Drizzle picked off his feet by an invisible force, flying in the opposite direction.
[1d6] = 3 Drizzle vs. wall
You all hear a 'thud', clattering and groaning coming from the left/south corridor.
As the whistle fades, you hear a sound like rocks falling in the distance, off to the west, where the main corridor continues into darkness.

Adrog
Adrog unlimbers his sword and rushes to aid his (foolish as wizards are wont to be) companion.

Drizzle
That was unpleasant, says Drizzle as he attempts to pick himself up.

Drizzle stands and dusts himself off. As your companions rush to join you, you all notice a non-descript, if dusty 10-foot alcove, identical to the other, apart from the bearded visage, which now seems to glare at you all from across the way.
You all hear a soft <click> from the center of the main corridor, but you hear no more sound in the distance, perhaps it was a trick of your ears?
The west corridor continues 30 feet to the edge of your light source.

Drizzle says, Let us continue. Arsenios, I may need your services: I shan't survive another of those.

Adrog
OOC: Any chance being a Dwarf gives me some clue about the click? Hidden door or such?

Yes! Adrog seems to think the click heard was the trap resetting...from some sort of floor trigger.

Adrog
Ware the trap! I think it's armed again! Pauses.
Unless the Mage wants to lead with his pretty head again?

Arsenios - Cleric
"Drizzle, it seems you have a gift for finding traps. In avoiding them...not so much. Rest a moment and I will aid you." With that, Arse
* pushes back his sleeves and beseeches the Lords of Light for healing.

Drizzle
My thanks, Arse. I wasn't wary. I should be.
