Thanks! It's funny that the sample dungeon in the original rules is full of tricks designed to foil the party mapper. There used to be much more of an emphasis on getting hte party lostkjc wrote:So cool to actually SEE the maps! You did a good job describing the layout as the maps I drew are nearly identical!
The entire "labyrinth" level in Skull Mountain was intended that way, it seems. Made for a difficult time describing via PBP from a DM's perspective. DMing encounters is one thing, but when the map itself is an "encounter" then you've got quite a different thing entirely.merias wrote:Thanks! Actually that's a phrase I would use to describe YOU greyarea!greyarea wrote:...quite a different thing entirely.
LOL - Nolenor is the name of the kingdom you live in. I wrote it on the first hex map I made of the area, then cut the name off of the cropped image and forgot about it until nowkjc wrote:Actually that's a phrase I would use to describe YOU greyarea!greyarea wrote:...quite a different thing entirely.![]()
@merias: What is the meaning of "Nolenor"? Might I offer " Dai and Aresenios' Excellent Adventure."?
And you know you love it!kjc wrote:Actually that's a phrase I would use to describe YOU greyarea!greyarea wrote:...quite a different thing entirely.![]()
I'm sure this is fine, although wouldn't ancient dragon just be dragon? or is it like Old English -- an ancient form of the dragon tongue. (And if that's the case, I'd love it if you worked that into the adventure at some point).merias wrote:Greyarea, the list of languages Drizzle speaks was just random, if you want to pick a set of languages more to your taste, go for it.
Yes, ancient like not spoken anymore by any living dragons, perhaps Drizzle came across a rosetta-stone like tome in the cellars of the Fingford royal library.greyarea wrote: I'm sure this is fine, although wouldn't ancient dragon just be dragon? or is it like Old English -- an ancient form of the dragon tongue. A dragon in a dungeon? Someone should make a game about that...merias wrote:Yes, ancient like not spoken anymore by any living dragons, perhaps Drizzle came across a rosetta-stone like tome in the cellars of the Fingford royal library.greyarea wrote: I'm sure this is fine, although wouldn't ancient dragon just be dragon? or is it like Old English -- an ancient form of the dragon tongue.
