Dave's 2E Sandbox
Description
This game will hopefully be a long running, completely sandboxed adventure for starting 1st level characters. The game will begin in a general setting and the party will be provided with any number of potential plot hooks. Where the game goes is really up to the players.
Rules (Updated: Friday, October 3, 2014)
This will no longer be a 1E game using the OSRIC A5 rules document, but will be run using 2E system. Any kit will be considered, and I may implement a few options from the "Player's Options" books, but there will not be any point buy system. I do not own any 2E materials so I will be using Purple Worm website and some house rules. See this post for my take on 2E: Game Longevity.
Pace of Play
Daily, excluding weekends and major US holidays.
Things Prospective Players Should Know
1) I expect players to keep out-of-character (ooc) chatter in the dedicated 'OOC' thread and not litter the 'action' threads with it. I accept that it may occasionally be unavoidable, but I do ask that players make a genuine effort to avoid using that crutch.2) My games use a public forum where all the action takes place, but each player is also assigned a private sub-forum. I like that classes, hit points, alignments, possessions, etc... are kept hidden from other players. All character sheets will be saved in these individual private forums, and any private actions or questions can also take place there as well.
3) Characters die. I don't do it on purpose, but it happens. I do not "fudge" rolls, and post almost all DM rolls publicly.
Availability
Active players are always welcome to apply. I currently have a full roster, but I will start a waitlist for interested any interested players.
Unless it happens during the characters' first encounter (in which case, I will let that player generate a new character and rejoin immediately), once a character gets killed, the next player on the waiting list will be worked into the game. The player whose character got killed, if they're still interested, will be added to the end of the waiting list, and so on. I will continuously cycle through this list for as long as it makes sense.
