New part starts here.

So to sum it up the party has found the mining caves and is working their way through the tunnel passages. So far they have found a few side mining sites that appear barely used at this stage. The party has seen Alanis slay two orcs found near to one of these sites. A strange stone golem on stone rollers surprised the party but they managed to let it roll on and not battle it. Then following the juggernaut they found the large mining site that Theodore appears to recognize from his short time in the caves. The party then decided it was best to go back and check the unexplored tunnels finding one as the campsite for the two orcs Alanis killed. The second passage being the one the golem came out of was found to lead to another camp with 7 orcs. The party is currently deciding what is best attack swiftly or sneaky.

honestly don't know since few are actually speaking or trying to form a plan. :?

Alright Folks lets pick this back up we have 2 mages and some archers in the party as well as the cleric 7 orcs all of which have not noticed the party. They also are not currently easily ready for combat you can overwhelm them fairly fast. Lets get this ball rolling.

Alanis has flaming sphere and magic missile left for attack spells for the day.

Alanis will hold his magical spell, magic missile, in his hands and wait for the party to attack. Once the ambush has happened he will release his magic missiles at the enemy, targeting them after the assault.

Theodore Mumfordian (Half Sylvanian Wood-Elf) Ranger lvl:5 HP 21/21 AC 5):

Cast the Silence 15 ft radius first, then all ranged weapon users fire their weapons then those with melee weapons only charge in.

After that ranged weapon users can try to keep on firing or move in for melee.

Arrow #1: To Hit Roll (+2 Strength Bonus): [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15 , Elven Oath Bow Damage: [1d6] = 2

Arrow #2: To Hit Roll (+2 Strength Bonus): [1d20+2] = 10+2 = 12 , Elven Oath Bow Damage: [1d6] = 2

I'll take Neev's advice and hold back on casting the lightning bolt and I'll wait and let alanis get his magic missile off first before I do anything, they may run scared after a wave from our first attack :ugeek:after he casts his magic missile that will be my cue to swing my staff at one if the magic missile doesn't finish the orc off.

Lubidius will wait until the caster's 'hurl' their spells and then he will select an orc at random and launch a pair of arrows towards it....

First attack: 1d20+1 (DEX 16): [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5

(That ain't gonna get it done)

Second attack: 1d20+1 (DEX 16): [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21

(THAT'S more like it!)

Damage roll: [1d6] = 5

(I believe you double damage for natural 20s? So that would be damage 10)

As the first volley of arrows is sent Alanis takes that has his cue to launch his own spell, focusing all of the magical bolts at one of the orcs.

Alanis Magic Missle: [1d4+1] = 1+1 = 2, [1d4+1] = 4+1 = 5, [1d4+1] = 2+1 = 3

Surprise! Round 0
The party takes immediate action against the unaware orcs.

PC's:
Neev casts a silence spell over the orcs.
Theodore launches some arrows towards the orcs
Lubidius lets fly some arrows towards the orcs
Alanis points and magical bolts fire from his fingers striking some of the orcs
Dune awaits the others attacks before he will unleash a lighting bolt or just charge in staff flailing around
Thifli
Gandrel watches to see who moves first seeing his new friends take action first. After seeing his comrades take action he fires off two arrows and hits one of the remaining orcs.

Orcs:
Orc 1-7 completely unaware of what is happening don't even notice it is quiet.... much quieter than is normal for this camp location....and then some arrows come wizzing in killing some of the orcs a look of shock and terror overcomes those that didn't die from arrows. Then magical bolts come in and kill another orc. At this stage the 7 orcs are down now to 5 and one is badly wounded from the magic missiles. They try to shout out orders and silence. The orcs look surprised as they scramble in silence to try and get armed for combat.

I await an action for Thifli. Gandrel can also make an action now that he has seen who will strike first.

Thifli

Thows his returner axe at the next standing orc.

[1d20 +3] = 20+3 = 23 to hit [1d6 +3] = 1+3 = 4 dmg

Double DMG on Crit for 8 dmg.
