You prepare yourselves for whatever lies on the opposite side of the south door. Fendt takes out his bow, Iluq readies his hammers, Agrippo double-checks the couch blocking the north door, and Tibbius cowers in the back of the room, Wand of Wonder in hand. The Sunsword dims when Agrippo crosses to the opposite side of the room, then brightens again when he nears the south door.
As holder of the Sunsword and wearer of the amulet that protects against life draining, Agrippo finds himself elected doorman. He steps forward and nudges the door open.
The attack you prepared yourselves for does not come. You wait a moment, then enter the room.
Dust fills your lungs. The musty smell of death and decay swirls around you. Before you, a long table of polished oak lies beneath a blanket of dust. The rotting table cloth lies tattered beneath dusty china plates and stained silverware. In the center of the table, a large, tiered cake leans heavily to one side. The once white frosting has turned green with age. Cobwebs drape like dusty lace down every side. A single doll figure of a well-dressed woman adorns the crest of the cake under thick layers of dust. A window in the south wall is draped with heavy curtains.
The room has a wooden door in the west wall and an ornate steel door in the east wall. Agrippo's sword continues to shine brightly.

Fendt scans the room for footprints in the dust or any tracks of any kind in the dust.

Illuq eyes the Doll atop the cake, "This does not feel right..." He keeps himself ready as he scans the room as well.

"Undead within 30ft...see the glow",Agrippo will whisper twirling the Sunsword, "c'mon then lets be having yer!",he'll growl and swing violently at the curtain and behind hoping his blade crunches into some gory creature rather than look a fool swatting gateaux eating flies!

Illuq swings his hammers down upon the doll and cake, believing that to be the origin of the evil aura.

You try to make sense of this room.
Fendt scans the dust for tracks. It appears to have been undisturbed for years—perhaps centuries.
Agrippo hacks at the draperies. His cuts bite into nothing but the defenseless curtains, which succumb easily to the shining Sunsword.
Iluq eyes the doll atop the cake.
"This does not feel right," he says. Believing that the doll and cake are sources of an evil aura, he swings his hammers down on the top of the cake. The evil (?) cake, which has turned entirely to mold through the years, explodes in a great cloud of dry green spores. The cake topper smashes into several pieces.

Illuq quickly covers his mouth and holds his breath, backing away from the table, moving for the door. Not wanting to breath in those spores...

Fendt knowing not all undead are stuck at ground level instinctively looks up and scans the ceiling for any wraith like things.

"I feel another strategy may be needed here Illuq. A wedding cake perhaps, but left uneaten. Maybe the bride got cold feet and ran away,....it happens sometimes", (Agrippo mournfully remembers young Carola who preferred to hitch herself to a horse and ride off into the sunset with some young noble Lieutenant no doubt!), "or she jumped perhaps?"Agrippo will open the windows and check, not expecting a body on the floor after so long but thinking it may be plausible. "Madam Strahd, if you are here still grieving please show yourself"

Tumbler, gripping his mace tightly, smirks at the exploding cake. Well you killed that shit outta that cake! Too bad Stradt wasn't hiding inside. Perhaps if he was you would be given a title, Sir Cakebasher the Mighty!
Chuckling at his own joke Tumbler turns serious, Well this looks like a party and who do we know who just mentioned a party? Prolly' the young lady who is a ghost or vampire or some other kind of nasty.

Tibbius
Tib is content to hang out in the doorway and watch as the others get splattered with curtains, moldy cake, and possibly blood. He will also look up at the ceiling following Fendt's lead.

Iluq covers his mouth and tries to avoid the formerly cake-shaped explosion of mold. Fortunately, it appears to be ordinary, non-magical, non-monster mold. Still, perhaps he should be alert for nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, wheezing, or skin irritation.
Tumbler has some fun at Iluq's expense. "Well you killed that shit outta that cake!" he smirks. He suggests a new title for the cleric: Sir Cakebasher the Mighty! Turning serious, Tibbius suggests that Gertruda might be a ghost or vampire or some other sort of nasty. But then he remembers that the Sunsword, which tells the presence of the undead by shining brightly, had only a dull glow near the young woman. Whatever she might be, she is no ghost or vampire. Not yet, anyway.
Fendt looks up for anything evil that might be in the rafters. Tibbius, hanging out in the doorway, also looks up. They see a beamed ceiling; nothing more.
Agrippo ponders what the uneaten wedding cake might mean. Perhaps the bride got cold feet? Or maybe she jumped? He unlatches the window and opens it. On the other side is the walkway that evidently borders the entire castle at this level.
Robert stands mute as a tree. Vorkath is also silent and motionless. After a minute he points to the door in the east wall and says, "I sense evil in that direction."

Illuq, cheeks red with embarrassment at destroying what he thought was an evil cake, heads towards the east doors, standing to the side to let someone check for traps and locks while still being able to rush in if anything wants to attack.

Fendt hearing the paladin eases his way into the room and keeps his bow trained on the east wall. "Could be a hidden door or passage with something lurking I didn't see anything above us in here floating or flying but I will cover you with my bow and spells."

Vorkath, paladin
"Iluq ready to Turn," says Vorkath. With Excommunicator drawn, he gets behind Agrippo as the east door is opened.

You take position around the eastern door. Agrippo, wielder of the Sunsword and wearer of the amulet of protection, is again appointed door-opener. With his sword in his right hand, he pulls open the intricately detailed metal door with his left.
You see a short hallway. On either side of the door is an alcove filled with a darkness that shames the night. From the gloom of each alcove emerges a shadowy figure. You recognize them all too well from your encounter in the chapel.
The wraiths attack!

Illuq faces the wraiths, revealing his holy symbol. A prayer murmuring on his lips as he attempts to turn the fold creatures.

Vorkath the paladin joins in the effort to Turn the undead, holding up his holy symbol-emblazoned shield and praying. The evil is too strong in this place.

Agrippo rages and swings the Sunsword against the wraith on his left (north),
melee attack : 19 +3 = 22, damage 3 +3 +1 (str) = 7
2nd attack to hit scored only 6, doubt he'll hit with that.

Fendt quickly replaces his bow with his magical mace. Then begins the ritual to cast his
Strength spell upon Agrippo. Increases Agrippo's STR by
