I've been feelin' a bit bad about dropping my A&8s game at Macray's Keep and promisin' to pick it up here. It's goin' to take a lot of prep work, but I'm willin' to start. If you could give me a forum, I'll start pluggin' away at it. The game goes by the name in the title of this PM.

In cases of players leaving, would the idea of the PC being killed (or abandoned in story) be better than just assigning to new player?
Now in cases of DM leaving?....thats where the ugly part comes in.

Technically it would be (relatively) easy to assign a new DM in the forum, the logistics of how another DM would run the game (different house rules, not having that module, etc.) would be a nightmare.

Though the best thing would be to kick someone thinking about starting a game in the butt, and port over the characters from the now-defunct game to the new one. IMNSHO.

I think Alethan did that with one of his characters somewhere.

Good discussion topic though Stonjuz.

True story.

However, then THAT GM also dropped the ball and abandoned the game.

:(

On a side note, I would toss out that I would prefer to NOT have a new GM step into a game in such a situation. I would rather end it and see if the character can be transferred into a new game.

I would LOVE to get into an Aces & Eights game as I'm a big fan of Westerns in general; and the setting for this game in particular. However....I don't have the rulebook and I HATE PDFs; so I'm hoping to actually manage to get a book off of Amazon or Ebay for something less than the staggering amount they usually go for.....

Would it be possible to play with a bit of help from those who have the rules giving me a 'mechanical' assist from time to time? If not; no worries!
