"The Goosh has brought the wood! So... uhh, where is the Goosh setting up the fire?" The dralasite looks to the group with earnest eyes as id looks around the room, still holding the wood. "You guys did bring the marshmallows... right?" Goosh Goosh fully expects the group to magically produce that bag of marshmallows right now, thinking that id has earned it collecting all of that wood by idself. "Right?!?"

Ragg sits back a bit away from everyone and watches as the goo thing, not sure how it is talking, asks the group for something called a marshmellow. His gaze goes between the group and the goo thing, still wondering who these people are, why that goo thing is able to talk, and for that matter eat, and how far his bounty has gotten ahead of him. At this rate he might as well stick with them because he has wasted so much time....

Elvis retrieves the blue-lit handheld thingy, the mask, and the flip devices. He asks the Goosh if he knows how to operate any of them. If not, Elvis tries to figure out how they work, starting with the flip devices then the blue lit thingy.

anyone attempting to learn about a certain artifact can roll 1d10 5 times per hour of testing. Say 2 hours fiddling and 4-6 hours of rest? IF you go for 6-8 hours.
Also if more than 1 PC is working on same item they get a bonus roll per hour.

The Goosh will not be able to fiddle around with any new toys if id's arms is full of firewood. He is still waiting on the group's response.

Abel remains unconvinced that the ship is clear, and being somewhat frustrated that his pleas for reassurance are going unacknowledged, decides to keep his bow equipped and ready for anything that might appear to try and kill them.

"I'll be over here," he offers in a somewhat deflated tone as he moves over and takes up a position by the door of the hangar leading to the interior hallway. He'll keep his sensitive mutant vision focuses that way, just on case, while the others try and figure things out.

Elvis can't quite bring himself to break it to the Goosh that he has no marshmallows and didn't mean the kind of camping that has a fire anyway. Instead, he busies himself trying to figure out the handheld device with blue lights from the medical bay:

Futz with stuff: [1d10] = 5 [1d10] = 8 [1d10] = 4 [1d10] = 2 [1d10] = 2

The handheld device with blue lights powers on. Apparently running a finger across the lights in certain orders has different effects. An alien voice clearly hisses from the device and something across the cargo bay chirps to life saying Translation mode activated."
It's the strange device the so called wizard threw away earlier, still where it landed!

When Abel hears an understandable voice emanate from somewhere within the cargo bay, he spins around, turns his frown upside down and forgoes his guarding vigil at the door leading back out to the hallway.

"Oh, a translator AND a diagnostic device? Now THAT would be two handy-dandy things to have, by frak!" he exalts excitedly, looking over first at Ragg and then over to where the Pringles Lady container is.

"The Goosh will set up the fire right here then!" The dralasite then drops all of the wood id was carrying and starts to pile up it up nicely, saving a chunk of wood for idself. "Goosh Goosh should not have gotten id's hopes up. The Goosh guesses that there will be no sweet treats tonight... the Goosh does not know how to starts a fire though. Can one of you shoot the wood with one of those laser guns to see if that will work instead?"

With the wood stacked neatly, the Goosh then retreats to a nearby corner and starts to eat away at the chunk of wood that id saved, dissolving it slowly yet steadily in its gelatinous body. Watching everyone else with their activities as the Goosh grows increasingly bored...

Ragg, never needing to actually make a fire before due to his fur, has no idea how to make the fire so he ignores that portion completely. He looks over towards the voice that emanated the translation and diagnostics equipment, thinking for a moment on it he looks to the rest of the group and then walks over to the opening, sniffing the air for any recognizable scents.

Growing ever more impatient, Abel leaves his post at the doorway and moves over to pick up the device that the wizard threw down previously. "I heard it say Translation Mode Activated ..."

He'll pick it up and study it for a moment before shrugging and holding it up to his mouth as he looks over at Ragg. "Hey wolfman! Can you understand me?"

Abel looks at Ragg after speaking into the device. Seeing that the wolfman doesn't turn back his way or snap to, he assumes it isn't working as he'd hoped.

"Frakking figures!" he exalts sarcastically, giving in to a bit of despair at his ill luck.

Seeing as everyone else is preoccupied with whatever the bleep it is they're preoccupied with, Abel sets down his bow and begins trying to figure out how to make the device work in earnest...

OOC: not sure how many rolls I needed, TC, so figured I'd roll for 5 for an hour's worth! :)

Ragg looks over towards Abel as he works with the device, confused as to why the man would think he couldn't understand him he goes over to Able and sits down near him, watching him mess with the device. A low gutteral sound then emanates from him, low enough that only abel and those standing or sitting nearby could hear, "Any luck?"

Abel manages quite a bit of success with the strange medallion and notices that while wearing it, if he concentrates on a specific language, it seems to change his thought patterns somewhat, and he speaks that language fluently!
A button, that must have been pressed by the former mage companion, seems to enter a direct translation mode. Another button sends a thin but wide beam of light from the bottom, like a barcode scanner in the before days.
+800 XP. There are still obviously functions you haven't figured out. Feel free to roll again if you wish.

The Goosh, in id's boredom, leaps up from the corner of the room, and heads on over to the others. "The Goosh thinks that you guys don't want to have a camping session any more. Can the Goosh have the rest of the wood? It actually tastes quite good to the Goosh." The dralasite then looks over to what Abel and the wolfman is up to. "So the Goosh has been wondering... what do we do after we finish exploring the ship? Investigate the life pods outside, wake up the Pringles lady, travel to a new and interesting place maybe? Goosh Goosh has but just met you all and even the Goosh doesn't know where to go from here. Do you know where humans keep their sweet pastries and candies?"
