Ewell asks Theora if there is anything she prefers they do to the fallen bodies, in accordance to her beliefs. He continues, "If you desire it, I shall go with you to inform your parents of their loss. Noonan and Norian fought bravely, and deserve an honorable farewell." Theora is just about to confide in Ewell when, while looking over his shoulder, her eyes grow wide and she lets out a loud scream. Ewell quickly turns and immediately sees what caused her to react as she did -- another troglodyte invasion!

Trying to sneak up, behind the 'Bronze Goat,' is another band of the troglodyte nuisances.

Gwillt hisses, "Quick. Attack them before they can close in." Then he rushes forward to take partial cover by the wine storage building before firing...

To Hit, Shortbow [1d20+4] = 16+4 = 20 Hits AC0
Damage, Sheaf Arrow [1d8] = 4

To Hit, Shortbow [1d20+4] = 19+4 = 23 Hits AC-3

"Must be somtin dey be a wantin here. At'em!"
Grim bends to snatch a couple of the trogs javelins and moves to close the distance for a throw.

in case they are in range:
Javelin:[1d20+4] = 8+4 = 12 Thac0:20 Damage:[1d8+3] = 3+3 = 6

Resolving late actions from last thread:

Grim looks startled and a hint of fear can be seen in his eyes as the paladin approaches him, offering his unnatural healing. "I would'nt let da witches of Luthic put der sorceries on me. I hardly allow a stranger of strange gods do so!" He backs away from Strom in almost a scurry, the fear in his expression turns to anger. "Nay! Keep yer witchery an touch me not! I'll no have such!

Theora's eyes grow wide and she lets out a loud scream.

The pack was attempting to sneak up on the group and hadn't released their stenchy oils, but do fill the air with their stench once they realize they've been detected. Everyone is considered to have returned to full strength after the last bout, but are now required to re-check. Given the recent exposure, all rolls will be made with a +4 modifier:

Please make a saving throw versus poison:

Gwillt: 14-4 =
10 -- success
Garth: 10-4 =6
Shannigans: 13-1 = 12-4 =8 -- success
Ewell: 14-4 =10 -- success
Kaltar: 10-4 =6 -- failed (-1)
Strom: 14-2 = 12-4 =8
Alordan: 14-4 =10
Epsilon: 10-4 = 6
Grimnail: 14-4 = 10

Just as last time, a failed saving throw results in a temporary loss of strength, but you can continue to function. If you failed your saving throw, please roll 1d6 (posting your results) and subtract that amount from your natural strength ability score (yes, the penalty for a failure will likely be different than what was experienced last encounter). See 01. Ability Scores for your new modifiers, but I will also update here in the game thread.

With this being considered a round "zero," ranged attacks (considered short distance) and simple actions (e.g. movement/positioning of short distances) are possible. Melee attacks and spell casting will be possible beginning in round 1.

"Glory be, but those things sure do stink...", Gwillt mutters as he spits to clear his mouth before firing off his two arrows.

Kaltar swings around at the screams and the smell
"Strom we are really being tested today. What say you ? Attack with our new friend or wait for the others?"
Kaltar is still unburdened isn't he Dave? I assume this is a new pack of foes as the others ran in other directions didn't they?

Saving Throw [1d20] = 1
Oh crap

D6 [1d6] = 1
At least I am consistent :D !

Shannigans eyes the boots of the dead he is working. Before he can do any type of appraisal, he hears the scream.
His hand instinctivly goes to his dagger, then looking about he sees the situation's current problem, and draws arrow to bow. Then the oily stentch returns.
(come on roller!)
poison [1d20] = 11
He sees arrows heading towards the trogs and realizes they are in range. He lets one fly.
shortbow thac0 21 [1d20] = 11 dmg [1d6] = 2
"Probably should have held on to that one a second more. Sorry folks. Here they come!"
Seeing that he may have time for a second shot he fires again. (not sure if that is the case but here's the roll if allowed)
shortbow thac0 21 [1d20] = 11 dmg [1d6] = 4 Now realizing he should have tried a more tactical position he looks around for a spot up off the ground.

Grimnail raises his nose in the air confident that he's slept in smellier holes than what these foul lizards can produce. His eyes betray his lack of fortitude as his stomach empties into and out of his mouth.
Grimnail Poison Save Attempt [1d20] = 3
Grrr!
strength fatigue from poison [1d6] = 6
The dice gods hath forsaken me!

Careful what you say. We do have to roll to see if a critical miss results in something bad...

Once again he feel the greater part of his strength abandon him as the smell overpowers his senses

True, which is why Ewell is in the market for a new lance pole to fit the pieces he was able to salvage.
