Tales of Argosa

I'm running a game using the Tales of Argosa ruleset. The public playtest version of the rules is available for free here.

The setting is Argosa, aka the Midlands low magic sandbox.

I'll do my best to keep to a Tue-Thu-Sun posting schedule. We won't get there every week but the expectation is three posts a week minimum.

Post your interest here and I'll get you some rolls so you can start building your PC.

That fourth set of rolls looks good! An 18 and a 17, and only one roll with a negative modifier.

Are we going with in order or can we move them around? Doesn't mater to me either way just thinking about what to run.

Count me in on this. I've been following their work for quite a while now and wouldn't mind trying out their new game set.

You can keep these rolls but know that this will be a DM-only rolling game.

None are great but sets 2 and 5 are manageable.

I'm going with set 5. Let me look at everything and I'll get the makings of a character up soon.

You can take set 2 and then change the 9 to a 15. You can then swap the position of two rolls. That may suit you better, depending on which class you want to play.

Same thing here for you Guru. You could take set 2, change one of the 8s to a 15, and then have the option of swapping the position of two of the rolls.

I'll go with that. Thanks!

Note that I am ok if you want to choose your character's race and background, rather than let the randomizer decide.

Go ahead and roll yourself for age, once you decide if your PC is young or old.

Once we know how many PCs there are, I will roll for your Party Bonds.

Humans speak Argosan, Karok, Nydissian, Thuel, and/or Varnori. For the purposes of the game, we'll treat Argosan like Common, even if your PC is not a Midlander.

Other languages include:
Dragon
Dwarven
Elven
Fey
Giant (including Bugbear, Gnoll, Ogre, Troll)
Goblin (including Hobgoblin)
Halfling
Serpentman
Skorn

There are also a number of dead languages from earlier ages, such as Ramorani and Suun.

OK, then I will try a Human Rogue with background street acrobat
STR 10
DEX 8 -> 15 + 1 (Human) + 1 (Street Acrobat) = 17
CON 10
INT 11
PERC 8 -> 13 (swap)
WILL 13
CHA 13 -> 8 (swap)

Do you have dice roller for us, if you want us to roll for age.

STR 11 -> 15 (swap) +1 (human) +1 (miner) = 17
DEX 9 -> 15 -> 11 (swap)
CON 13
INT 10
PERC 13
WILL 14
CHA 10
I'm going to go with a human fighter with the miner background.

Let me know if you want to go with the Young or Old age category and I'll roll it up. EDIT: or go ahead and roll it yourself, in this case.

ToA is designed for 3-4 players. Since we have three, I am going to start the game but anyone else who wants to play is welcome. Even if everyone else drops out, I'm going to keep playing for a bit to test out the solo rules.
