Scarik's Belated Introduction

So... I never did make a post to say hi. I've been lurking for awhile since Leitz got me over here. I'm starting a game here and I don't want to come off like vaporware so let's correct that now.
I'm Erik and I got my forum handle from my misspent youth where there were a few Eri(c/k)s about and we all ended up with adjectives. I got 'scary' so here we are 20 years later and now even my students call me Scarik.
I play mostly wargames. Tabletop is dominated by Epic: Armageddon/NetEA (40k setting in 6mm) and a WW2 hack of those rules a few friends and I play. On PC I am hopelessly addicted to TW:Warhammer and Panzercorps II. And Magic, mainly on Arena because I'm not rich enough to maintain my habit like I used to.
RPG-wise I'm largely an old school D&D guy. I still have the Rules Cyclopedia my dad got me when I was 11. I'm very much into the OSR and do it yourself hacks to get the game just the way you like it. I run a yearly game for my long time group where I make all the maps with LEGO and run it with what I have decided to call Basic4E which as you may guess is an unholy merger of the things I like about Basic and 4e. It plays more like the 4e-based board games than it does like full 4e but stays pretty quick.
The past few years I've gotten into Chainmail, rediscovered Platemail and decided I needed to hack those as well.
