Bindle finds no sign of Erodhon. After climbing the hill he can see the second passage still blocked. Skiiratch and Razluki arrive to join Bindle as he heads for the frescoed hall.

The first thing you all notice is the body of Erdohon on the floor. His lifeless bloodshot eyes stare at the ceiling and a froth of saliva covers his chin.

Tix will come up with the rest of the party. He takes a long look at the hallway, especially interested in the path being made by the tiles of the floor, looking for traps or anything that might catch his interest.

The path is made of red tiles. Upon closer inspection you notice there are letters hidden among them. From the entrance to the bronze box that protrudes from the west wall the letters spell out the following...

ACERERAK CONGRATULATES YOU ON YOUR POWERS OF OBSERVATION. SO MAKE OF THIS WHATEVER YOU WISH, FOR YOU WILL...

Erodhon's corpse is laying on the last few words.

Skiiratch grabs hold of the body and drags it clear of the tunnel...

While Skiiratch will grab one leg, McCloud will grab the other. Can we do a thorough check of his body.... dead, departed, last will and testament in hand? What wounds are on the body? the froth indicates a poison of sorts so I am checking for stab wounds, needle punctures.

He fell below this 'bronze box', "Tics, could you check for traps around that?"

"well what do we do with him now? We can leave him here for the ravens to feast upon, but lets take any usefull stuff (thinking of spell components, lotions and potions, gear etc) that we could scavenge"

(McCloud has studied overnight for the following spells from his book:

1st: Shield, Unseen servant, Spider climb, Hold Portal

2nd: Invisibilty, Strength

3rd: Clairvoyance, Protection from Missiles.)

Bindle throws a back hand at the dwarf(subdual of course)
[1d20] = 9 subdual attack on dwarf
but the dwarf easily ducks it. "How dare you insinuate I killed the man. Keep your eyes on the dungeon you dumb oaf!"

Bindle will walk up to the corpse and tap his jo stick out as far as he can along the floor.

Rebuffed by Bindle, and baffled by the word "insinuate," Urdak shakes his head at the treatment of the body. Grabbn d'legs n draggn him aroun'. Elfns has funny ways to mourn.

After all the kindness that Erodhon showed you and this is how you repay him? Leaving his body for the buzzards? For shame. For shame. :)

Right, yes, traps... Tix will cautiously look around the box (careful not to touch anything) at the wall and floor. Taking care to poke and prod in manner that might find traps. Also is the box locked?

Quinn waits patiently while Tix examines the chest.

OOC: Is the doorway on the right side a painting or an actual door?

"This path on the floor hides a message does it not? Perhaps the scholarly amongst us can decipher it and any 'clues' it may hold." McCloud will suggest pointing at the mosiac path, whilst liberating the body of Erodhan of any usefull items.

Suddenly a wry smile crosses McClouds visages and he grins at Quinn...

"Erodhan was a greedy fool going off on his own, what was he thinking? However he can still be of use to us....can I suggest my Unseen servant carries his body down this path, perchance any traps that remain hidden...well his 'keen' eyesight might well spring them for us? Don't get deader than already dead....any objections Erod?"...Erodhan shakes his head in return (with a little help from McClouds hand wiggling his jaw), "fancy being pointman/pointelf for the group now don't you?"...heads nods....

Sounds like a brillant idea to me! Says from over his shoulder as he continues checking for traps near the box.

Two jackal headed figures are painted so as to appear to be holding the bronze box which is protruding from the wall. Upon closer examination Tix finds that the box is already opened. Oddly, the bottom of the box is hinged and hangs open. On the face of the box there is a fake lid and catch. Tix finds a hair thin needle sticking out of the catch with a drop of blood on it.

The elf is free of wounds, except for a drop of blood on this fingertip.

It looks like a painting, but the surface of the wall where the door is painted looks like it is slightly raised, as if it were covering a real door. It is hard to tell at a distance with such low light. The painting depicts an iron door which evidently confines some sort of a horrid creature, its taloned and scaled hands grasp the bars of its small window.

Those of you still at the camp notice a small fishing raft pulling up to shore. It seems a late comer has arrived at base camp. A human man dressed in plate armor and priestly garb hops off the boat, tosses the fisherman a sack of coins, and walks toward camp to introduce himself.

Saalaria, you're up. Welcome and good luck.

The red path does appear to have a message hidden in its tiles. The remainder can be read now that Erodhel's body has been moved. It would require following the path and searching it.

The floor appears to be solid for as far as you can reach from the spot where the elf fell.
