John squats low, staying concealed until the last moment. His intended target is the last man in line.

Phil nervously readies his knife. He is most certainly not comfortable with hand-to-hand combat, but he will do as he must. He attempts to remain quiet and concealed and to strike with surprise.

Pre-dawn to First Light, 3 December, 1943: Monte La Difensa, the Camino Hill Mass, Italy

Captain Hyde-Smythe took a deep breath and exploded into motion as the four German sentries were walking by. He struck with text-book precision; wrapping one hand around the soldier's mouth from behind while the other brought the V-42 Force Knife into his neck in a swift and fatal attack....

SGT Mario "Mark" Battaglia on the other hand managed to slam his blade into his target's back, but it skipped off the shoulder bone and only succeeded in drawing forth a half-hiss/half cry of pain from a second German rifleman. Luckily, a nearby exploding artillery shell drowned out the sound and a javelin stab from Koda finished the man off.....

Phil Heuron made an attack on a third 'Jerry' with his blade, but was only able to wound the man, not finish him off; but John Porcupine accomplished that by slamming his blade up and into the man's heart and after some terrible spasming, he lay still forever....

Campbell and Chisholm managed to team up and finish off the last of the German quartet without too much trouble and more importantly, without alerting the rest of the German solider as to their whereabouts....

During all this, Tom Nado kept a close eye and ear out on the other nearby German positions, but it didn't seem like anybody was responding to the sudden ambush and knifing of the 4 man patrol....

Shortly after the four had been dealt with, SSGT Tanner moved towards them and whispered, "Right....the Regiment is all here and spread out. When the artillery finally runs dry with First Light in a couple of minutes, we're to rise up and rush the enemy positions. You fellas are obviously here in case the Krauts have Supers of their own....but if not or until they show up; you're on the same duty as the rest of us....take out the defensive sites they're manning." Tanner points out an area that has 2 rifle pits, each with half a dozen soldiers; 2 'sangars' or foxholes with rocks piled up all around them......and a bunker with a horizontal opening that the barrel of an MG 34 was slicing out of. "Okay.....my section will take one of the rifle pits and sangar sites; but you guys have gotta deal with the other rifle pit; sangar and that bunker."

The members of SST 11 studied the area in front of them and four German soldiers could be seen in the Rifle Pit while another 4 German soldiers were 'inside' the Sangar and another pair were inside the Bunker. The Rifle Pit and Sangar were both about 50 yards from their position, with the bunker a bit further than that....perhaps 65-70 yards or so.....

The light of the sun could suddenly be seen, along with the sudden cessation of the Artillery Sites....."OKAY FORCEMAN, ATTACK!" an officer yelled and just like that, the hundreds of troops that made up the 2nd Regiment of the First Special Service Force rose up and assaulted the enemy....

John speaks up during the briefing SGT. Are we free to use our Talents? Or do we have
to wait until they show us theirs?

Phil will take a look at the terrain, looking for an approach to the bunker which is at least partially under cover.

OOC: That's my bad Urson; I meant to have a line in there about Talent usage....once the attack starts, it's all weapons free, including your powers.

Also Kipper: there's a bit of cover here and there; some rocks mostly.....but you'd have to dive/crawl down to really make use of it.

Nahum Chisholm

Nahum will rush the sangar. Trying to lay suppressive fire on it with his Tommy Gun as he does. Once close enough he will jump right in, using it as cover from the pit and bunker and trying to finish the soldiers with his Tommy Gun or Knife if necessary.

While the others focus on the sangar and rifle pit, Nado tries to bring a shroud of fog down on the bunker.

Koda felt the spirit fill his body and he pulled out of his sack one of his Javelins and and ran forward to the rock 30 yards closer to the Bunker.

First Light, 3 December, 1943: Summit of Monte La Difensa, the Camino Hill Mass, Italy

The Forcemen launch their devastating surprise attack on the German Regiment on top of Monte La Difensa with yells, rifle and automatic fire and the hurling of grenades. Within moments, explosions are going off, yells of defiance, pain and rage are echoing all over the mountain and somewhere in the midst of the chaos, a Team of Talents engages the enemy....

SSGT Nahum Chisholm rushes forward towards the rifle-pit protected by piled rocks known as a 'Sangar' and he cuts loose a 10 round burst of .45 ammo from his Thompson SMG as he does so. He's happy to see 3 of the 4 German soldiers in the pit duck down for cover as he covers 25 yards, about half the distance to the pit; in the blink of an eye. However, he ALSO notices the last German solider rises up and starts to bring around his KAR 98 rifle to aim at him....

SGT Casey Campbell takes a knee, sights down his Johnson LMG and sees a German rifleman in the sangar taking aim at his charging friend Chisholm. Putting the butt of his weapon into his shoulder, he takes a breath, lets it go and then strokes the trigger to send a burst of 5 .30-06 slugs towards his target. The soldier is hit several times and he collapses into the pit, leaving a smear of blood and his Rifle visible, the latter now pointing crazily towards the sky....

CPL Tom Nado took a deep breath, closed his eyes and reached within himself to feel his connection to his Weather Control Talent Power. Activating it* (note, your Willpower 3D6 roll was a 7....good enough to beat the needed 5...whew!) and he created a small 10 foot by 10 foot by 10 foot fog bank that enveloped the steel bunker that was about 70 yards away and towards which several of his teammates were headed.....

CPL Koda drew forth one of his 3 Javelins and attempted to activate his Spirt Aide Talent Power** (3D6 Willpower roll to beat a 10...roll is an 11!) and feeling it, he could feel his Javelin become charged with Mystical Energy and he moved forward towards the now fog-shrouded Bunker; which was now about 50 yards away.....

CPL John Porcupine saw the Rifle Pit with 4 German soldiers in it and he called on his Earth Bending Talent Power*** (3d6 Willpower roll to beat a 10...roll is a 16); and he suddenly 'bent' the earth of the bottom of the pit to collapse into a 10 foot deep hole and 3 of the 4 German soldiers vanished out of sight as they yelled out in surprise and fear as they fell. The fourth scrambled out of the pit with eyes wide in fright and his hands shakily bringing an MP 40 SMG to bear on John.....

LCPL Phillipe Neuron moved cautiously towards the now fog-covered bunker with his M1A1 Carbine at the ready; crouching down and utilizing the naturally rocky terrain to stay in cover as best he could. He noticed another figure doing the same and he noticed SGT Mario 'Mark' Battaglia crab-walking through the rocks and keeping his own Carbine at the ready and the New Yorker saw the look, grinned and said with his Brooklyn accent; "Hey, you Cannucks ain't the only ones with brains", as he kept moving towards the Bunker and staying out of the line of fire of the MG 34 MG.....

Captain James Hyde-Smythe moved towards the enemy and raised his M1 Garand at the German solider that scrambled out of the suddenly MUCH deeper Rifle Pit that Porcupine had utilized his Talent against. Seeing the enemy raise an MP40 SMG and aim it at one of his men, the Canadian Pilot-turned-Infantry Officer quickly fired and drilled his target high in the chest. The German trooper collapsed forward and writhed for a moment, before turning extremely stiff and unmoving....

OOC: Okay, there are 3 suppressed German soliders in the Sangar (currently out of sight of everyone).....probably several Germans in the fog enshrouded Bunker.....and 3 Germans who may or may not be alive in the suddenly deeper Rifle Pit (also out of sight of everyone)....

Koda is about 50 yards from the Bunker with a charged Javelin in his hands and about 25 yards from the Sangar

Chisholm is likewise about 25 yards from the Sangar and 50 from the Bunker

Phil and Battaglia the NPC are a bout 60 yards from the Bunker and 30 yards from the Sangar and both are low and have cover from the rocks

Everybody else is still about 50 yards away from the Sangar and about 70 from the Bunker

Also note, everybody made their Activation rolls for their Powers with no WPs spent....but some of those might not have worked, particularly those of you with Major Powers.....just let me know if and how many WPs you want to spend on any needed rolls in the future. Everyone who has a power active (John, Nado, Koda) you've got at least the next 2 rounds to do something with your Power(s) and not have to worry about any Activation rolls.

Koda

Will contine to run 15 yards and throw his javelin at the bunker, using a luck point, then dropping to the ground, reaching for another javelin.

Dawn, 3 December, 1943: Summit of Monte La Difensa, the Camino Hill Mass, Italy

The member of SST 11 continued their surprise assault on the German position atop Monte La Defensa, along with the rest of the attacking Forcemen; taking full advantage of the surprise their arduous mountain climb attack had granted them.....

SSGT Nahum Chisholm reached deep within himself and 'felt' his connection to his Talent Powers 'click on' and a moment later, his eye to hand coordination and agility were literally at superhuman levels and his whole body became a slight blur to anyone looking at him. He plucked one of his two grenades off his webbing and squeezed the lever, pulled the pin, let the 'spoon' fly off and he hurled it towards the Sangar he was rushing towards in one smooth movement. The spherical weapon flew thru the air, bounced once right in front of the rock-protected fox hole, ended its arc JUST above the rocks protecting the hole and then dropped in where it exploded with flash and bang. A helmet from one of the German soldiers crouching in the Sangar came flying out and another body was blown up and landed with an unmoving arm visible, draped over the rocks....

John Porcupine then continued to utilize his already active 'Earth Bending' Power to grab a couple of those boulders from the Sangar hole and move them over and then drop them INTO the foxhole he had made deeper a moment before. Though he couldn't hear any screams or 'crunching' sounds from this far away....the former Ranger could and DID imagine them with a nasty grin on his face while doing so...

Captain Hyde-Smythe came running up between Chisholm and Porcupine and called out to both; "Don't just bloody stand there lads, keep on them!" as he raced past them....

Meanwhile the rest of SST 11 was approaching the now fog-covered bunker and while no one was really surprised when the MG inside of it suddenly cut loose with a wild spray; it WAS still enough to send both Campbell and Mike/Mark Battaglia diving to the ground and ducking for cover as the 7.92mm rounds flashed overhead...

LCPL Phil Heuron continued to crouch and move towards the bunker while staying low and using the rocks here and there as cover. The MG burst had caused him to briefly duck, but he quickly could tell the fire wasn't well-aimed and he was able to continue to get closer to it. He estimated he was about 50 meters away at this point.....

Staying where he was, crouched down behind a good sized rock; CPL Tom Nado continued to keep his Fog Cloud encompassing the bunker as he watched Phil get closer and closer and he could both see and FEEL/SMELL/HEAR Koda's power as he was winding up with his charged Javelin aimed at the bunker....

CPL Koda moved towards the fog-covered bunker, ignoring the machine-gun inside of it that opened fire in his general direction, but he trusted in the Spirit Guides that told him they wouldn't touch him. Some buzzed by, quite close, but none hit him and at a distance of about 35 yards, he closed his eyes, LISTENED to his guides and pulled his arm back and HEAVED the charged Javelin with all of his might. The small spear left his hand and smashed into and THROUGH the wall of the bunker, impaling the German gunner and pinning him to the back wall of it as well. The silhouette of a man could be seen throwing the door to the bunker open and racing out while yelling "AMIS UBERMENSCHEN!" (American Supermen); while yet another silhouette could be seen getting into position to man the MG again...

OOC: Okay, the situation is as follows; Campbell and Battaglia (NPCs) are both suppressed, but can shake it off this turn; Porcupine, Chisholm and Hyde-Smythe (NPC) can see the Rifle Pit and Sangar have no foes able to fight visible from their current position....they are about 20 yards from both (Hyde-Smythe is maybe 15 yards) and about 50 yards from the Bunker...which now has a decent sized hole in it ALONG with the firing port....

Koda is about 35 yards from the bunker now; Phil is about 50 yards away and Nado is perhaps 60 yards away from it.

Everyone had hear the firing and see the figures of Tanner's Section moving into the fight to the Team's Right.....

Koda does not want to stand, so he will let go of his connection with the spirits and take his rifle and fire thru the hole at the man who too the gunnery position.

Nado stays low and keeps the fog over the bunker. But he also takes the opportunity to try to put a bullet into the German trying to re-man the machine gun.
