I'm still here, got a little distracted as I seem to sometimes...
If you feel like you need a nudge from me to get things rolling, I'm happy to oblige, hopefully the rumors give you some ideas to pursue though...

Where IS our destination? We have a few to choose from, and Sumi will tag along wherever the samurai choose.

Yea, I'm not quite sure which rumor is being followed... But while we narrow that down, I wanted to signal that I'm ready to move things along

Did you have a specific NPC in mind that we'll ask, DM?

By the way, is everyone ok with starting in winter time?
Oh, and I'm grabbing some seasonal stuff from other games. And I wonder what common article on seasons in Japan all the RPG's use. GURPS Japan has exactly the same set of temperatures and precipitation chances as Sengoku and Land of the Rising Sun matches dead on for many of the seasons (though the first two split each month into first and second half while LotRS doesn't -which is the source of most of the difference).
And I'm using the encounter tables from Land of the Rising Sun, they are a lot more detailed...

Winter's OK with me. Probably really cold and snowy in Hida in January. I hope Osamu is a skilled guide and camper.

I want to give Sumi a chance to interact with the travelers and then we'll move on.

Sigh, another week got away from me... I was going to try and put some brain cells into the game last night, but all hopes of doing anything last night ended at 5:57 PM with the house plunged into darkness and my wife mentioning she heard an explosion and maybe saw a flash of light. I'm assuming some part of the electrical grid was damaged by the ice storm two weeks ago and finally failed.

Sorry to hear that, Frank. We've somehow managed to dodge any blackouts here for a while, even though our local power company is notorious for not preparing for storms.

I hope everyone is okay. Where are you? I lived in Houston and Katy back in the 80s.

Portland Oregon. We didn’t get it as bad as Texas but still pretty bad. Over 400k customers out at the peak.
