I can work off the image you provided, if that's a good place to start. Also, let me know if you want a figure study, or if you prefer clothed figures to evaluate them. (Sent via PM, of course).

Nālani is a 5'6” 143lb woman, plainly of Japanese ancestry. Her naturally black hair is an ever-changing variety of styles and colours ( shades of red predominating ). When she takes off her shades her eyes are usually green.

Her clothing is as varied as her hair, though usually appropriate to her surroundings. On Bridge duty she wears a Spacer's jumpsuit, at a Brokerage she wears a business suit, at a nightclub or art event she wears the fashionable thing ( or something that will become fashionable )

She dotes on Hoshiko, a lithe black female cat that delights in leaving the corpses of whatever vermin can be found on the ship just where Nālani will put her feet as she gets out of bed.

Nālani is polite and friendly under most circumstances, and seems to make friends easily across a wide range of society. Mostly the fringes of it though...

Still, if a crewmember needs something Nālani usually “knows a guy who knows a guy”.

I must say. She is looking good for 38.

Yeah, the fashion industry and the internet are not great sources for women over 30.

I prefer the 1st one, both for the style of it and as a character thing - she's an arty type, the 3rd image is too "mainstream".

I'm aiming for style not precise likeness.
