The Unseen Servant forums

This Traveller game will be about Oghma Raiders trying to escape the "Old Ways".

I will transition into elements of Pirates of Drinax as things progress.

This is primarily porting a pre-existing game and its players into this site, but there is room for another player, maybe two.

Oghma raiders are bad people doing bad things. Characters start out as the bad guys ( at least in the eyes of their neighbours ), and there will be adult themes ( slavery and imposing violence, or the threat of it, on civilians ). These things are not the point of the game, but they are part of the setting. Characters will have been involved in such things before the game starts.

I'm waiting for one more specific person to register and sign up ( coastguarder, give him a poke, eh? ), but yes, I'll be glad to have you aboard for "Space Vikings" ( though, of course, everyone sees them more as the reavers from Firefly. )

Not literally reavers though. Sane, non-cannibals. Who raid their neighbours relentlessly and enslave them, yes, but the idea here is that the PC group are trying to find a better way than that .

The reaver reference is kinda like how the Vikings seem very different depending on whether you read their sagas or the monks writing to Rome to say "barbarian Norsemen have murdered us all horribly, send more gold"

I'm new to these forums, but I was looking for a Traveller game to join so this thread caught my attention. I was wondering if there was room for another player or if the game was full? I'm familiar with classic Traveller, but not Mongoose, so I'd need to learn the system a bit before I could join. Hopefully that won't be a deal breaker if there's still room left in the game.

There is space - one person has dropped out.

We are only just spinning up, so it's a good time to join.

Out of Oghma uses custom careers, and the characters start as "barbarian raiders". It's a bit Space Vikings
