Re: IC I
Round One
With a magician's flourish, Atticus whips the tapestries away from the opening, revealing two of the shambling moss creatures, who immediately recoil. Flailing about, the pair emit a high-pitched, ululating scream. None of the adventurers have ever heard moss in agony, but had they, these creatures are making that exact sound. Wisps of smoke, as if they are being burnt, begin to rise from their bodies.

It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

Themon looses a crossbow bolt at the closest enemy. The missile sinks deep into its smoking body.

Re: IC I
Round One
The combined might of the adventurers, in addition to whatever magical properties the light possesses, fells the lead moss monster. There are others behind it, but they do not advance, and, if fact, seem to hesitate, if that is something that moss monsters can do.

Re: IC I
Sorry for the delayed post; I had a rough week last week. The tl;dr of this battle is that you guys did something very clever, and the combat is basically over in that they will not purposefully advance into the light, and also don't move quickly enough to avoid taking enough damage that they are destroyed.
The Battle of the Moss-men
Smoke rises from the forms before the party, and a smell akin to burning vegetation fills the room. The adventurers lash out with blade and bow, and find their foe slain not by a judicious application of violence -- although it does not seem to hurt in this instance -- but by whatever force or dweomer is causing these creatures to self-immolate. Those of a clerical bent find their minds drawn to the application of holy water upon the undead, in that it has a similar effect to the light in the chamber; these moss-men appear to have animated themselves from corpses. Could they, in fact, be undead?
