Feargus
"Mardan Cy, are you ready? Last night in town I think." The young lad begins softly playing his flute, slowly gaining volume as the crowd quiets down. Feargus begins tapping on the table top with his hands, providing an element of rhythm to the song. He begins weaving in verses recounting the party's latest adventures including an extended version of the story of the tower south of town and Zellar's prowess in particular highlighting the dervish's ties to Kimrid. He intentionally leaves out all mention of the town the party passed on the way to the tomb.
He finishes with a fast paced piece about a warrior named Goshawk, made into a larger than life superhero. After he finishes, he answers Mardan's questioning look saying, "I'm curious to see where this goes. It's possible, albeit not likely that Goshawk is met in town when he visits as some kind of a hero." He laughs as he retires to bed.
The next day, he's ready to ride south.
Fifthmonth, Fourthday
Kimrid
Feargus's performance is solid, but Mardan Cy seems distracted by something. He plays the wrong note, several times, and can't seem to establish the proper tempo. Feargus mostly manages to cover for the lad, but overall it's a pretty mediocre performance.

Northern Party
Hex 237.119
The adventurers rise to a wet morning, with a misty rain coming down. By the time they have broken their fast it has stopped, though, and the sun is burning through the mist. They head south, traveling unmolested for the day, and find a decent place to camp.
Fifthmonth, Fifthday
Southern Party
The adventurers rise early, woken by a gentle drizzle that tapers off shortly after the sun rises. They continue south, reaching the outskirts of Draea shortly after lunch. As before, it does not take long before they are spotted by a patrol and hailed. The adventurers do not recognize the captain of the patrol, a squat ironskin with a beard like steel wool. "Ho there, travelers! I recognize you from the feast of weeks past! Tell me, is the road to Kimrid clear once more?"

Gardo
As they start setting up camp for the night, Gardo suddenly stops, stands up and speaks out. "Aw, crap! I can't believe I didn't do that!" When Mariusz gives him a puzzled look, Gardo continues. "I meant to ask Kirra to be my guest at the tavern last night, was going to offer to buy her drinks and dinner as well. I can't believe I didn't do that." The look changes from puzzled to disapproval. "What? It would have been a nice thing, may have her speak well about the group. I can't help it if that wasn't the best.... Hey.... wait a sec. I wasn't trying to bed her if that's what you are getting at. I mean, if she had wanted to maybe but that was not what I was trying to do. I can't believe you would think that about me." Gardo turns away muttering and continues to set thing up.

Zellar drinks in the sight of this foreign city and its soldiers, comparing it to her homeland of Kimrid…

Guard Captain
The captain shakes his head. "Not really. An orc raid maybe four nights ago, along with an ogre or two, but we drove them off without much difficulty. Pretty quiet, otherwise. The Baron will be interested to know the road north's opened up."

The Southern Party
The adventurers are escorted to the settlement and lodged in the same stables as they were before. After a short while a guard comes to retrieve them. "The Baron will see you now," she says, and the adventurers are led back to the offices of Baron Xelazo.
"You have returned!" he exclaims, "and I hear that the road north has been cleared of danger and reopened to trade!"

Telemachus
"I suspect the troubles with orcs are not completely solved but yes, we did clear the road and it's much safer than before."
The mage mentions the ruined village full of shadows. He notes the danger but also points out travelers will be fine if they simply don't go close.

Baron Xelazo
"Hmmm. It is as you say. Perhaps one day we will look to establish relationships with the domains to the south, but for now I am interested in sending envoys to Kimrid." He looks at Telemachus, dark eyes flashing with the color of the forge. "And there was another matter that you said you would take care of in exchange for some time in my library. Were you able to accomplish the task?"

The mage's eyes narrow and he looks back expectantly at his companions.

"Excellent!" he exclaims, "that is good news indeed. You shall have your library time, if you still so desire! But your phrasing suggests that there may be bad news, as well?"

"Very well!" he exclaims, "you and your companions shall be the guest of honor at the meadhall tonight! Telemachus, my good man, let me know when you desire access to the library and you shall have it!"

"Is there a temple or place of worship here, Baron Xelazo? I am a servant of the Mnencir in Kimrid, and am eager to establish relations with your holy orders."

Wulfka
With a little bit of apprehension, Wulfka steps forward to speak to the Baron. "Good Baron, I have a concern about my employer, Gardo. He went to Kimrid to take care of some other business and is a few days behind us. When he arrives, he will wish to speak to you about possibly having a combat spar with him."
"I understand that sparring with the leader of a barony is a very unusual thing, it probably should not be considered. But Gardo... never quite sees things in that way. Ever since he learned that you had a great battle where you slew that orc leader, he has dreamed of nothing less that testing himself against a worthy opponent. It seems to be an unusual trait from his upbringing. He would try to entice you with his tales of battle, against the mummies, the chaos creature, probably even the trolls that we encountered a day or so back. I, that is we, would like to try and head that off."
"If you would go ahead and let me and Notai here, his other employee, know your will, we can make sure that Gardo does not do something offensive towards you or your people. You may remember he had a personal servant with him when you saw him last. That man holds a great deal of influence over Gardo and we can enlist his aid as well. I thank you for allowing me to speak."

Baron Xelazo
"Indeed there is! Father Odos is our chief priest here, of Yster, the Craftsman. If you attend the banquet tonight you will no doubt be introduced, as Odos never fails to miss revelry!"

Telemachus
Learning that the party intends to stay in town for at least a couple of days, the mage asks to begin his study of the library first thing the following morning.
