Sik howls in victory and takes one last swipe at the dead dwarf in anger (careful to not hit Kain in process).

"Akhilleus, shall we explore further down the cavern? If there are any more of these little bastards I want to kill them."

Drest

"We should get back to the others, splitting up is just asking for another ambush."

"Agreed, let's finish searching the cave first, then look for other places to search."

Akhilleus "Yes. Let's do that." He leads the way towards the corridor where the other dwarfs left. He'll be careful enough to look for traps all along the way. "Drest, maybe you could lend a hand with traps here?"

Ceana

The druid is ready to move on and falls in line with the others, torch in hand.

Cyril

"Yes, shall we explore this small area to the Northeast first? I'm not convinced we got a good look at it yet."

Dwarf Chaos Stymied?

With Ceana's earlier magical light in the main cave still active, the group brandish their torches, ready to investigate the remainder of the cave system where they saw at least one dwarf retreat. Belloc has Crestos remain outside, near the raft, in case any unseen trouble arises.

Cyril looks over the northern cave Ceana was in earlier, finding an active mining operation complete with forge, tools, and a narrow shaft where ore has been mined, some of the rocky chunks still scattered across the empty floor of the place. Nothing of value and no secrets are found within.

The lower passage still reeks of dwarf and something else. A putrid chemical stench mixed with the distinct smell of lamp oil. There is no sound whatsoever coming from the darkness beyond your sight. No traps are located in the area that can currently be seen.

Drest will cautiously move forward, looking for traps as he goes.

Sik removes his sling and several bullets from his pack and places it in the sling, making himself a Ready Shooter against any little men that remain. He follows closely behind Drest.

With a prayer of safety on her breath, the druid follows the rest of the group inside the chamber...

Kainaxarthos

He takes a moment to go over the narrow mineshaft in the forge room. Kain is trying to determine what the dwarfs were mining.

Kain also racks his brain, trying to remember what the smell is in connection to mining operations.

Xenos?

Cyril?

Akhilleus?

Again, if players aren't posting because they don't have anything to add, I have no way of knowing you are doing that.

So, I wait. Then I wait some more. Then I wonder. Then I wait even longer. Then I do this.

Which unnecessarily slows the game down.

Akhilleus follows on behind Drest.

Sorry OM.

It wasn't actually because I didn't have anything for my character to do. I thought I had already posted but I didn't :|

Cyril joins the procession entering the cave, but allowing the more doughty members of the troupe to go first.

Kain straggles in the mining area, trying to understand what the dwarfs were doing. The ore they were digging out of the pit contains a small amount of iron they were likely trying to smelt into their crude weapons. He can't place the chemical smell, but thinks it is likely from something volatile and or flammable.

A bit like cattle, the others follow Drest into the next hallway, despite the very clear warning from Taibhse about the smell, who deliberately stays behind. Belloc and Cyril seem hesitant as well, allowing the others to pass through the oil and chemical soaked hallway before them.

By the time the front five gets positioned in the center of the next intersection with the main passage that continues east, and another passage heading north, a single spark is seen flickering in the distance. The spark is from the dwarf you saw earlier, who ignites the oil soaked dirt and rock, causing a blaze that instantly engulfs the front ranks completely within hot burning flames. 6 dam each (a successful Avoidance Save will result in half damage, if you please)

While those in the back watch in horror, Sik looks like he is about to drop from the sheer agony.

Akhilleus goes blindly into the corridor and pays the price.

Saving Throw (Device, Avoidance, Sorcery) - [1d20]=2 vs 15 Great roll.

He pulls back as soon as he can.
