Freya
OK Freddy, It looks like we are to watch the garden grow from out here. Lets wait until they start getting shot at but be prepared to provide supporting fire through that doorway there. (SW Door)

It looks like we don't get to play bait. Fancy some water?

Freya will dispatch the drone so it can look down into the garden from the roof. The greenhouse glass will make the IR capabilities useless but it can provide visual and EM support. I'm particularly looking for burst radio transmissions from locations not associated with our troops.

Also, makes sure the SW door isn't locked in case Freddie and I need to help in short order.

Electronics Roll (2d6 + Electronics + EDU): [2d6+4]=10+4=14: For unlocking door (but not opening it)

Sensor Ops Roll (2d6 + INT + Sensor Ops): [2d6+3]=8+3=11: For sensor observation

I had misunderstood a comment from Tiglath, that I should not be accepting the armor from Frank. Since this misunderstanding will explain my flipping on the issue.

"Colonel, I think that I let the adrenaline get ahead of my common sense, I will borrow that armor if the offer still stands. I am sorry, but the Baron is not a fan on his civilian staff having a comms unit so if that armor has a comms unit I would not disagree." after a pause he continues. "To answer your question about which door to open, I cannot see if someone was stationed by the door for example, I can only tell you the last time the door was opened. And given that the Baron would not allow cameras, the direct answer I can give you is limited."

Frank sighs "The Baron seems to be his own worse enemy when it comes to security. I just need your best guess as to the door to head for. Let's see if we can get some armour..."

Frank will send one of the troopers to grab some CES as quickly as possible.

Kit

"About 5-7 minutes ago there was combat around the western stairs (with what I assume was grenades), the space beyond the doors is a mirror image of your space so in the end both doors lead to the same location. There is a slight tactical safety point of view for using the northern door (less opportunity of being in a cross fire situation), so I would recommend that one."

Frank nods "North then...tell me Major, how are your grenade skills? I've got some stun grenades if you want a boost to your armaments"

Kit

"I do know how to use a grenade. I will gladly hold a couple for you. Thank you."

Freya/Her Bot and Freddie cover a door each from the south.

Kit and Jess are just off the map behind Frank's team on the eastern side. If elsewhere please specify.

Prerna's team are as marked. Note the person height active fountain obstructs LOS somewhat being a "parasol" of watery activity with a low wall about the "bowl" part.

Edit: The fountain is one of those "sheets of water" types so best resembles an inverted wine glass (with the stem removed and glued inside. The effect is that you can see through it but with some distortion.

Correct on the positioning for Kit, assuming that I am wearing the armor and have grenades in my possession.

Yes to the above

Kit will be offered a Combat Environment Suit (Cloth) and after a moment's consideration by the officer issuing the armour (who, memorably, only had one arm) the loan of an ACR with three magazines (one each of standard ball (slug), discarding sabot and HE rounds).

(OOC: For reference and tactical decision making the ACR has +2 autofire bonus and +2 Dex bonus for Kit. The Penetration for the rounds is slug: 4, DS:6 and HE: 3. The Pen of your HEAP snub rounds is 6. The protective armour value of the CES is 6).

That's good for me. Frank is in the doorway eyes-on the garden, waiting for Prerna's initial all-clear.

Good enough - although the bot is using height to get a better view through the greenhouse glass.

There's no-one in that fountain is there?

(OOC: Cognisant of The Bindoner's somewhat disrupted posting (and not wishing to burden him with posting to say he's off the map) I'll press on directly with Jess "in reserve" but capable of directing her squad to enter via either Prerna or Frank's hatchway. ;) :) )

Punch Up at the Pool (Round 1)

The mercs push into the park scoping out the area as they go (badly  ). However, attention is immediately focussed on the figures doubling in through the hatches on the western side. This therefore appears to be a "meeting engagement" being (effectively) a surprise to both sides.

The (red) figures are armed with ACRs (with a minority carrying SMGs or pistols) and falxes. Though mostly bareheaded they appear to nearly all be wearing Guard issue CES or vehicle crew cloth armour.

Freya and Freddie (amended position as per BackworldTraveller's PM) have a front row seat (and a half!!!) and are within charge range of the group nearest them.

For LOS etc all hatches are open.

Please note lines of sight Incapability Brown (or whoever designed the park) contrived to restrict vision for some gardening purpose lost on soldiers and terrorists. So while Prerna has a LOS to the southern group (through BRIDGE on the map) Frank is more or less unsighted due lumps artfully placed (mansized) rock and twee woodland (twee twees???)

However, both sides are aware of the presence of the other and will likely react at the same time.

Have at it!

Presuming that they are indeed hostiles...

Prerna seeks cover at the fountain. "Engage front! Cover and watch your sector!" She brings up her ACR and fires a burst into the group she can see.

My ommission: they are all also armed with falxes!

Now, corrected above - thank you! :)

Well, as the doors are bullet-proof glass - I'll slide it about 2cm open and engage the guys that are lines up 7 in a line - one behind the other...Any overs should have plenty of opportunity for finding someone to hit.

And Gauss Rifles are quiet - even on full-auto!

Gauss Rifle, Full Auto, Short Range, Snapfire: (Skill + DEX + Auto): [2d6+7]=3+7=10

and at -2

Gauss Rifle, Full Auto, Short Range, Snapfire: (Skill + DEX + Auto): [2d6+7]=6+7=13-2=11

Hopefully, with all those ACRS firing, the Gauss rounds won't be noticeable.

And then I'll step aside to reload while Freddy does his thing.

So, you took my "likely bullet proof(ish)" to the bank? That's very trusting!!! ;) :P

However, I stated the hatches (including doors) were all open. So, due to my pedantry, you'll end up with two layers of glass - the wall and the (slid open) door!

The doors are open but you can fire around the door frame using it as cover. Thus making no in game effect to you called action.

My emphasis above but there's no need to reload. Two snapshots (both at -2 so two hits from the above rolls) won't empty your rifle just fire off two four round bursts - this is a good thing. 8-)

As I am left handed, I shall stand to the right of the right-hand door frame.

And the number of actual firefights I've been in/trained for is.....
