The five of you will need to work out how you divide the treasure. Let's contain that in this thread. You can have a group meeting or private meetings around town with IC posts as you wish. Also, OOC discussion as needed (as usual).

I am assuming that Clay detects magic on the items when in town.

First Group Treasure:
Foxy has the flaming sword of the goblin king. * Magic
Foxy has a sack with the goblin king's head.
Halfpint is carrying a small sack of mixed coinage (20lbs of mixed CP, SP, and EP)
- 104 cp
- 40 sp
- 56 ep
100 pp (reward money)

Second Group Treasure:
29 ep coins
25 ep bangle bracelets
13 ep
Two coffers of mixed coinage (200lbs)
- 1040 cp
- 400 sp
- 560 ep
- muddy red zircon (75gp)
- banded red and white sardonyx (100gp)
75gp gem - eye agate (75gp)
500gp Jewelry - a matching pair of most unusual electrum amulets, each set with a piece of serpentine stone. (500gp)

4 Shortbows (human make)
22 arrows and four quivers

(Shortbread's things)
60 lbs sack of dwarven personal effects collected by Shortbread
Thundred's shield * Magic
Thundred's axe * Magic

A dwarf-forged electrum circlet * Magic

That is amazing!

While at the Farrows', Clay reveals how Ms. O'Hare, himself and the others returned to the goblin halls. That King, and his undead army, will not bother you and your families again. But as is the way of the world, good comes with bad. While we fought in the dwarf hold, we used all means at our disposal. The ancient dwarf drums woke a dragon. Now goblins roam the mountains as.they seek a new home, and the dragon insists on a monthly sacrifice. Ms. O'Hare, Halfpint and Baxtaw went ahead to inform the Duke. You should take care of your families. The badger that is Clay answers any questions as delicately as he can. To cheer up the families, he offers any children rides around the farm and tends to their sick and/or wounded. While leaving, he wishes them the best, inviting them to Beith's Watch when it is complete. Or sooner, should the need arises.

I suppose the Horn, Thundred's axe and shield should go to the dwarfs, as well as their belongings. An entire clan!!! :( That is sort of against Clay's religion. He will take the items to the dwarf hold.

Foxy O'Hare

Foxy, currently in the Infirmary may also be found in the tavern as she paid for a room until the end of the month.

She will lay claim to an equal share of the 100pp reward money from the duke. Other than that she won't pick and choose anything, just receive a gp share.

She will ask that 100gp value goes to a bardic group tribute as she no longer has the golden shield to display.

If Clay comes to Gaul prior to going to the dwarves she will accompany him to Idmi Idum.

Halfpint meets Clay and Grizzly Woman as they enter Gaul. She tells them about their 2nd encounter with the dragon along with their meeting with the archduke.
After the conversations, they agree with the loot and reward splits.
(What is the split?
Do we need to offer to the mercenary guild the wages of their dead members as a peace token?
How many shares are for the split? 5 or 6?
Halfpint needs cash mostly to replace her beloved Peck and supplies)
Dandelion - female half-orc beautyqueen in training (The Lone City in the Wildlands) OSRIC
Halfpint - female halfling badgirl wannabe (Lab Lord- The North Marches) LL
Mark'd - charismatic human fighter (Lab Lord- The North Marches) LL

Coming back with 0 of 3 guys hired definitely has an impact: In fact, I already recorded it.

Mercenary Camp
Halfpint: -2 adjustment (everyone died in June 2021)
If you want to try to defray that with RP and donations, you can do so.
onlyme wrote:How many shares are for the split? 5 or 6?
Five shares:
- Foxy O'Hare
- Clay Weatherwax
- Baxtaw Greayburst
- Halfpint
- Grizzly Woman

You owed a half-share to Shortbread, but he died, and a full-share to C'ang, but he died, too.

we were awfully close to having a 2-way split, but Scatha let the three of you go... :P

Seriously though, that was a deadly adventure! Two PCs, three human hirelings, an ogre retainer, three pack animals, and over 20 dwarfs - dead!

Foxy should keep the flaming sword.

Marullus, Clay also has a scroll or two from Sdubok. And the group should see about more reward for killing a lieutenant goblin.

That is roughly 500 gp worth each of mundane coins/jewels plus whatever we sold the personal effects for
Do we give away the dwarf magic items or keep it?
and should the donations to mercanaries be from halfpint since she was the one that negotiated their service, or from the total kitty?

Remember that this is object d'art.

(I will provide the appraised value. They will purchase objects d'art immediately for 25% of appraised value. Or, they will take it on commission and return in three months (10% chance of loss) and offer you 71-130% of appraised value, depending how well it sold.)

If we got full values listed, that is 429.18gp per person. But we also have to figure the electrum circlet and sword value.

Clay believes we need to respect the dwarf culture and return all items form the Blackhelm clan to their kin. Or at least he sees it as a necessary thing, or we'll look really bad in the future.

Marullus, what is the dragon's tooth worth from the merchants and from Pierpont?

Right! You also have the tooth!
Pierpont is astounded that you have the tooth of a still-living dragon. He will offer you 100pp for it if you really wish to discard it. He sincerely asks, however, if you would not rather have it fashioned? If you have a plan for the dragon, it could be an antecedent for something to aid you.

The merchants think they could get you closer to 500pp from collectors in the south, especially if the dragon follows through on its threat to eat maidens. Publicity and all.

the three retainers were paid cash upfront, Foxy funded the money, I think some others contributed not sure, it is at beginning of expedition. But Halfpint was the most charismatic so she recruited them. I don't think we should worry about further mercenaries as they should be recruited presently by the duke with the dragon crisis.

Sending the tooth south may equate to one thousand gold each in a few months time, that sounds a good deal.

The Blackhelm clan have no idea about the dwarf stuff until we tell them so Foxy would suggest we either hawk the stuff to the highest bidder, distribute it between us or if we return it to the clan then we lever some compromise out of them, cash or full time retainers? eg Clay returns the stuff but his labourers at the tower are supplemented by additional workers at no cost, Halfpint receives a mule, Grizzly gets some fashioned armoured or 'battle training' for the bear, Baxtaw gets access to a dwarven spell, Foxy just gets some respect! Not sure how that will go though and in effects characters are giving up magic items.

Foxy can do something with the four bow and arrow sets. In town they will only sell at half value anyway so she offers to take that much less from the team kitty as part of her share.

100gp team tribute off the top will earn us also kudos in town and give us more XP (hint!),

how do you equate value of a magic sword vs value of the magic spell knowledge found?

Foxy suggests:

Foxy keeps the flaming Scimitar, bows and arrows,
Clay keeps the Horn of Jarkul & spell scroll of Sdubok
Baxtaw keeps the magic shield
Halfpint keeps the magic circlet
Grizzly keeps the magic axe.

Banded red and white jewel used to fund group tribute (100gp)

sell remaining jewels at face value (675gp),
send the dwarf personals to Idmi Idun with our best wishes.

all the coins and jewel value converted into gold pieces make 2,734gp, So that is 545gp each with some loose change spent on a tavern meal.

send the tooth south after the dragon encounter and get another 1,000gp each in two or three months time.

Hmm... Thundred's kit, like the horn, could bring problems for the character in possession later. Like the horn did already. But if Grizzly and Baxtaw want to take the chance, that is a fine split from Clay's perspective since, aside from the scrolls, none of the other magic items are usable by Clay. Except maybe the circlet... So unless that comes up as available, Clay is fine with just the scrolls and cash.
Clay will take some of his share in the form of the gems, rather than cash. So don't sell them, please.

I don't know about the tooth. If it can be used as a spell component against Scatha, we ought to do that. Maybe it can be imbued with the ability to charm or hypnotize a dragon with a bonus on Scatha. Any one of us should have enough item XP to do that, at least. But if someone wants that, then that should be it's own share, or a good portion of it. (I can see Foxy enjoying that power! Maybe she would hand off the sword?)

What do we do with the art? Are you all willing to take the risk of sending it south as a group? That way no one PC has to take the risk alone. Clay is happy to send it as a group and wait for the money.

Wow, what a lucky ending to the expedition! For the survivors, anyway.

Grizzly's happy with the axe. She'll also call dibs on one of the bows, and she'll take any unclaimed arrows as well. Is it possible to pay for some research on the dragon tooth before deciding whether to send it back for extra money?

I'm kicking myself now for not thinking to take some of the hellhound's teeth to add to the Grizzly's Trunk, that would've been nice.

As long as Baxtaw is okay with taking Thundred's shield, it looks fine then.

Clay will take the three gems (75gp, 100gp, and 75gp) and the remainder in gold, if no one else wants any gems. If someone else wants gems, speak up. (Clay has a tower he can store coins in, whereas the rest of the PCs carry their worlds on their backs.

No one has indicated anything about the 500gp worth of art. Are we sending it south as a group, or even as a few folks? If so, that is 500gp that isn't divvied up now.

it was quoted in the post I wrote regarding liquidating all the gems, including the electrum amulets into monetary value and sharing the money between and using the 100gp jewel as tribute funds. Foxy would prefer her share of the gem value now because with the dragon about, we might not be here when the jewel merchant gets back. Sending the tooth south is about as big a risk as she will want to wager.

You can liquidate the amulets for 125gp now if they need to be divided. (Not 500gp, as above.)

Clay indicates to the others that, while he sees the reasoning of keeping or wearing a talisman of animal parts, he is opposed to sending Scatha's tooth to the south so some wealthy noble can brag about it. Such people are parasites on Beith's planet. If the would like a dragon's tooth, they can damned well get one themselves. It cheapens C'ang's sacrifice and deeds. He offers to take just the tooth and some (~25gp) as his share. If the party is resistant to adding in the gold, he will ask for a bow and quiver, at least.

I am not sure yet if Clay will take part in the Coming of Scatha, but either way, sending a valuable magical component south for some cash seems like a missed opportunity.

This frees up 3 clerical scroll with 4 spells on them, by the way: cause fear, resist fire (x2) and delay poison..

The Grizzly Woman agrees that the tooth is probably better off being used than sold. "Would that be funny if old Big Dragon Scatha gets his tooth back the wrong way around. Har har!"

Ideally I'd want to bargain for Grizzly taking the tooth, even if that meant taking nothing else, so she can add it to her nasty tree branch. However, I know that I'm going to be too busy over the next 3 months to involve her on any adventures, so she'll basically be AFK after we split treasure. The tooth would be better used by someone who'll be around when Scatha comes, even if it's just to use it to research more information about the dragon. If Clay wants it, I'm happy with that.
