Prerna runs north and checks the corner at the arboretum and the east-west corridor.

As she moves up Prerna sees that all the stateroom doors near the junction are open and all the interiors are dark. She's reasonably sure at least one will contain troopers covering her approach route. As she reaches the corner she is challenged (likely from one of two rooms [DBL SR] opposite the closed ARBORETUM entrance) " 'Old it right there Miss Nayar, ma'am! I reckon we've got a truce goin' so no takin' liberties, eh? Come any further and we will open fire!"

Her squad have instinctively moved up behind her and (like her) are likely within a zone covered by 1188th. She reasons that if anyone opens fire now the resultant casualties re will be nowhere near the value of the objective.

The bold positioning of her squad does however, in 1188th terms, very much "raise the ante".
