Luther
Well, they know we're here. I'll watch our backs while the subtle and sneaky types search.
Monocar, stand guard in the room, please.
Luther stands about 5 feet outside the door watching the sanctuary.

Wes
The druid remains outside the room too. "If there's nobody in here, who lit that candle?" he points out.
"If there was somebody in here, did they leave through this door? Luther, can you make out any tracks?"

Luther
Good point. I suspect there's a hidden door. But I'll look. The ranger hunkers down, studying the floor again.

Monocar
Looks quite proud of himself. Hearing Wes about the candle he looks at it and thinks a moment. Do you think someone could be invisible like Jax and Krystal? I'll ask... Hello? Anyone in here that is invisible? Raise you hand if you are... Wait... that wouldn't work would it? Say Hi? Don't worry, we're the good guys! Sorry about the door. I'll build you a new one...

Galanthas clenches his teeth at Monocar's reaction, not as if angered by it, but rather as if embarassed as if he himself had done it. He says quietly, his teeth still clenching: "Monocar... Someone might hear us if you speak so loud... Someone with... unfriendly intentions..."
Otherwise, he looks into the room with curiosity. "I could give a try and see what's specifically sheding a magical aura here, since Avaala detected something behind the door earlier... Right?" After a second, "I mean, if you will."

Avaala the Grey
"Yes, Galanthas," says Avaala softly. "There was definitely something in this room radiating magic when I checked." Avaala does not take his eyes off the room, wondering if the same mind that set the trap on the door has something new in mind for them. "We have a guy that likes to set traps," he says to Treasure. "So let's keep our eyes and ears open."

Chauncey will stay distinctly out of the room until it is certain there are no more inconvenient explosive magical wards. Standing in the nave, he directs his familiar. “Look sharp, Mr. Wrenly! The party depends on our skills for their safety. Stay alert!” Mr. Wrenly, his simian features hard to read, looks about as alert as usual.

Monocar moves aside to let the others into the room. He stay alert but curious, searching in more mundane ways for anything of value or interest. First he checks the candle to see if he can figure out how long it had been burning.

Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Humid, Damp, Dim
Peering through the smashed in doorway, Monocar calls out loudly to anybody inside who might be hiding in the darkness. Oddly enough, there is no reply.
Luther doesn't see any hidden doors or fresh tracks in the soot to indicate that someone was here recently. Wes wonders who lit the still burning candle. Galanthas suggests that he could use his spell to discern exactly what was giving off the magical aura that Avaala detected earlier, to which the mage agrees. Treasure flutters up and takes a peek inside as well, but doesn't mention that he has spotted anything invisible in the room.
Brother Gilbert and Chauncey keep their distance from the dangerous doorway, allowing the others to search while they advise. Mr. Wrenly screeches his agreement softly, smart enough to know not to shout during quiet time. Too bad Chauncey couldn't teach that trick to another certain member of his group.
A small intact window is spotted inside the room, high up on the outside wall, about 12 feet from the floor. It has been covered over with a dark cloth or covering of some kind, blocking any actual light from shining into the room. The candle on the desk appears to have been lit recently, very recently actually, as there is no wax dripping down its sides yet at all.

Avaala the Grey
"Let's wait until we see what Galanthas' detection spell reveals before we touch anything in there, Monocar," says Avaala. "If that is the way out, remember the trap that was on the way in." The mage looks up to Treasure. "Anything out of the ordinary, buddy?"

Galanthas rubs his chin, thinking: "What if we open the other door so we make the most of the spell before it wears off?"

I think he is referring to the other door where magic was detected. The one on the opposite side of the room as this one.

That's correct. Sorry for not specifying that.

Brother Gilbert
He is staying away from the doors, while trying to suppress chuckles caused by Monocar's enthusiasm. So far, he has not been successful.

Luther
Oh- 'course. Yeah, might as well use the spell up, if you've got any juice left in it.
Luther grimaces a bit, annoyed at himself for ignoring the doors right in front of him.

Wes
Seeing the window high up in the wall, Wes calls to Monocar. "Here, Monocar, take my spear. You can use it to knock that curtain aside and let some light in here".
The druid remains in the doorway proffering his spear. As he stands there he points out a few things to the folk in the room. " I don't like that something was in here but seems to have disappeared. Did anybody look under that bed yet?"
"What about those books over there on the table? And that chest?"
After a moments thought he addresses Luther. "You walked around this building. Do you recall seeing a window in this spot when you did?"

"I'll cast the spell but someone should accompany me to open the other door before it wears off and we can see what's behind it."
Galanthas casts Detect magic.

Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth

"I got nothing," is all Treasure replies to Avaala.
Wes hands his long spear to the bumbling fighter already inside the room, who takes it and knocks aside the thick covering over the beautiful stained glass window that Luther remembers seeing on his walk around the exterior of the place. Once the covering is removed, a hopeful ray of sunshine illuminates the dreary room a bit better, though it does little to improve the unwholesome feel to the place. The druid points out the books, bed, chest, and candle, but he doesn't enter the room himself.
Galanthas decides to help the search along by casting a daily spell that should help him determine exactly which items in the room are magical in nature. Once cast, the only thing that glows in his eyes is the single non-melting candle atop the desk. Relaying this to the others, he starts heading for the door across the room.
