Brother Gilbert

He is standing near the back of the group, shaking his head at the level of the discussion.

For what it is worth, welcome back to visibility, Krystal.

I wish I could help more.

Luther
Luther smiles. I'm glad you're still with us, Jax. You're a big help.

So, Chauncey- do traps like the one that got Jaxen reset themselves? Or is it a one-time thing?

Luther moves toward the other door, visually inspecting it for all the usual: does it open in or out, are there visible hinges, keyholes, whatever? He does this with his face at least a couple of feet from the door.

Avaala the Grey

Pleased to hear Jax' voice again, Avaala smiles and turns back towards the door and out into the main chapel. "Thank you, Treasure," he says. "Being able to talk to them made that whole thing easier."
"There is no spoon."

“Well, I... it should be obvious that a magical ward such as this would... almost certainly... that is to say, unless we are dealing with an arch-magus... it would...” begins Chauncey, sounding oddly flustered. “I’m sure it’s perfectly safe, now.”

Galanthas smiles, happy that he made it. "Good. It worked." he says in a sigh. He looks at Avaala and Chauncey: "Strange that we couldn't see the liquid flowing down his gullet though. I would had sworn that...". He lets the words hang. "Well, I'm gonna take a look att those statues at the back of the room. Our friend surely needs some breathing space."

He goes then to the statues and starts prodding their bases with his club and bodies, as if looking for a hollow spot.

“What did the detect magic spell on the door reveal? That there was magic in the room but not on the door? A magical ward is serious business in and of itself. A self-resetting ward would be extremely high-level sorcery indicating an inordinately talented mage. I’ve never even heard of such a thing. ...I’m sure it’s fine.”replies Chauncey, unwilling to admit that this sort of dweomer is quite outside his current magical abilities. He did not believe even his mother capable of such a resetting ward, but then he couldn’t be sure. He is unable to fully conceal the doubt that flickers briefly across his features.

Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Humid, Damp, Dim

Great RP again everyone!!!! As a reminder, the burnt door itself was no longer glowing. None of the three remaining doors were glowing. The hint of magic was coming from beyond the two northernmost doors.

With Jax back up on his feet, allegedly, and barely, the group starts to discuss their next options. The monk is definitely not healed of his wounds, and is now toiling even more so, yet somehow the potion administered to him has brought him back from unconsciousness. Luther has another close look at the burnt door, but doesn’t find anything to report other than black soot. It is hinged from inside, with a clear lock and a pull ring that would indicate that it pulls out, into the larger room. Galanthas decides to check over the three statues at the back of the sacristy again. He doesn’t find any hollow spots in their construction and no secret or hidden compartments are revealed to him.

Treasure answers his friend Avaala. “Of course. We are all here to help you. Even her.” He points to the re-invisible Krystal, still standing next to the badly burned, allegedly, Jaxsen.

Avaala the Grey

"Are we agreed, then," Avaala asks. "Krystal and Jax stay here, recuperate and guard our fallback position?" The mage takes a couple of deep breaths, taps his staff on the floor, and adds, "Let's get this guy." He nudges Treasure with the side of his head. "You ready?"
"There is no spoon."

Jaxsen Reiter

Jaxsen nods at the idea of staying back. "I have had the good fortune to have a healing potion before. This feels different, like I have additional energy to keep me going, but not really healed. If this wears off at a bad time, I am afraid I will become just dead weight. If it wears off while I am here, I am no worse off than I was, and you don't have to carry me back here." He feels around for where he believes Krystal to be and lays a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

The ranger nods.Sounds like a good plan. Monocar- follow me.
Luther readies his sword and checks the door to see if it's locked.

Luther pulls on the burnt door’s ring and doesn’t explode. It doesn’t open, however, so he can safely assume that it is locked.

Have we got a *ahem* locksmith in the group? Or should I use my master key? He chuckles and lifts his right foot when he says "master key".

Wes

As the subject of searching for further magical effects comes up, Wes recalls that Obad Hai will grant him such a power if needs be. He stands away from the door as he sees Monocar approaching it and grasps his club in case of further fighting.

Chauncey positions himself and Mr. Wrenly in a path not directly in front of the door to await the effects of opening it. The magic radiating from behind it could be so many things - magical rings, magical amulets, piles of magical scrolls - the possibilities seemed endless.

Galanthas leaves the statues alone after nothing happens. He joins the group at the door, thinking of whacking whatever comes out on the head with his club, if the size of the bulky warriors allows.

Avaala the Grey

Avaala and Treasure take the opposite side from Chauncey and Mr. Wrenly, to help give maximum coverage of what lies beyond the door.

Brother Gilbert

He will stand well away from the door, not knowing what to expect. He is feeling rather useless at the moment.

Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Humid, Damp, Dim

Leaving the pair of invisible scouts behind in the storage room, the others continue the investigation.

Monocar uses his powerful skeleton key on the locked door before anyone of intelligence can stop him. The bolt in the wooden frame on the old, tattered, and burnt door shatters easily under the brutes strength. As soon as the door is cracked open, the loud sound of a single reverberating bell tolls from somewhere below the stone floor at their feet.

A single candle burns inside of this dark room, lighting it up just enough to ascertain its contents from the doorway. A small table and chair sit in the center of the room. An uncomfortable looking sleeping cot stands against one wall, it is currently unoccupied. A worn wooden chest sits on the stone floor nearby. A makeshift writing desk is set up along another wall, the still burning candle, a few books, and a few other items are strewn across its surface.

The room has an unwholesome feel to it and it looks about as hospitable as a dungeon prison cell.
