Again......these ideas would need to be worded as an action before I can update.

Been waiting on people to scream how terrible an idea it is or give me a thumbs up before I take that action. But since we have no objections...

Keyon

The rogue eyes the tip of the crab claw in the near distance and points. "We're headed there. If cover is present, we'll land and I'll be back quickly for the rest of you. If not, we'll continue to the other side and deposit our cargo there, then return."

That said, he'll order the carpet to fly in the direction indicated with The Knife, Darklin, and Feanol accompanying him.

I know. I think we are experiencing the yearly back-to-school fall lag. :)

The Flying Keyon And Friends
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Sunrise, Warm, Breezy

Keyon boards the prized magic carpet he was rewarded after picking from the mysterious deck. He looks to the other side of the claw-like cliffs across the water and to the main shoreline beyond. He suggests that he will fly a few others to the first point to look for cover, and then return for the others.

Darklin and TK happily jump on the carpet with the thief, glad to put this place behind them. Feanol climbs aboard as well, needing help to get aboard the floating rug. Keg and Elnaerel stay back at the tower ruins, wondering when the wasps will return. Their wait goes by uneventfully.......so far.

About 20 minutes later, and after a thrilling but extremely windy flight across the open cliff span, Keyon sees only more rock below him as they reach the other side. Looking around the area reveals only more wide open spots of rough rocky cliff tops.

Feanol

Looks for the place where they left the poles and shade they had used on their last day of rest before the final push on to the tower. If she spots it she'll point it out as a landing point.

Darklin

Waits until they get close to the ground and gets off the carpet and moves to the edge of the tree line in the shade. Watching as TK jumps. He scans the rock trail and sky above waiting for something to pop up.

Get over here TK. We need to be ready if anything shows up to attack us. It is just you and me for a while so keep your eyes open.

He readies his bow.

The Knife

When the second crab claw area turns out to be devoid of cover, The Knife slaps Keyon on the shoulder. "We'll have to keep going to further. To the trees", he shouts above the rushing air. Assuming they arrive safely, he jumps off quickly and joins Darklin on the ground. He immediately starts to look for somewhere to hide, or a tall tree to climb.

Feanol

Will get off if she needs to, or if there are only two more she'll make the return trip.

Keyon

Since OM said the area at the crab claw is devoid of cover, we'll keep going to the other side rather than stopping at the crab claw. Jump off if you wish, but I'm flying on.

Keyon nods at TK's urging and they continue toward the far side and better cover. He gazes around them constantly to seek the specks that herald another attack by the wasp-riders.

If they make it unmolested and IF there is sufficient cover devoid of an obvious enemy presence, he will land them near that cover and gesture for them to disembark. "Return with me, Feanol?"

Elnaerel

Elnaerel crosses her arms and leans against a wall while they wait. She starts talking to Keg.

"So, I never asked where do you come from or how is it that you came to this place? What makes a warrior like you leave his people and come to this wild place?

By the way, I want to thank you again for the club you fashioned for me. I feel safer with a weapon at hand. I hope you don't take it badly when I buy myself a new morningstar... "
She chuckles. "If there's one to be bought, that is."

I think Bluehorse is not in the best situation to start a bit of chit chat, bit who knows

The Long Wait
Sunday, 28th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Hot, Breezy

Seeing no good place to hide from the sun or the wasps, Keyon decides to fly on to the further destination across the next channel of the Azure Sea. He suggests that anyone who wants off now simply jump.

After another lengthy flight, Keyon sees the spotty treeline where they camped 2 days earlier and heads that way, dropping TK and Darklin off and asking Feanol if she wants to accompany him back to get the others. Looking around at the area and to the distant sky, no threats appear to reveal themselves. The place looks just as it did before, with a thin line of scattered trees and a vast wetlands beyond that. Darklin reminds TK that it will only be the two of them until the others return, causing a bit more animosity between the gnome and his opinionated blade.

Elly tries striking up a conversation with the distant Keg, but his mind has been focused on bigger and better things as of late.

Actions?

Just wanted to pause here in case there were any changes to the plan of leaving 2 behind before returning for the others.

"Why yes sir I think that's best. I'd be little help here, but could help ward off wasps if they did try to molest us here."

The Knife

The Knife gives Keyon and Feanol a thumbs-up as they take off and disappear. The he turns to Darklin. "There's not much cover here, is there?"

He surveys their surroundings for a moment. "The sun's off to the south-east, so the trees are casting shadows to the north-west. If we find a couple of trees and each hide at the base, that'll make it harder for the wasps to spot us. Any dead branches around here?"

"I think our main problem is the swamp. There's probably all kinds of stuff in there that wants to eat us. I hope that big crab doesn't come back!"
The Knife shivers. "They'll be back in less than an hour...Less than an hour..."he mutters as he settles in behind the thickest tree trunk he can find.

Keyon

Full speed ahead, I suppose! :?

"I don't like it," Keyon mutters as he lifts off and begins the return flight. "For them or for us. But we're committed now...off we go, lovely one." He winks at his pretty companion and they speed back the way they came.

Sorry I have not been able to be here as often. Do i understand right that we are using the carpet to usher each other across to the treeline a couple at a time?

The Splits
Sunday, 28th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Hot, Breezy

Keyon and Feanol abandon TK and Darklin to their fate, leaving them behind at the edge of the swampland as they return to retrieve Keg and Elnaerel. About half way back to the tower ruins, the elves spot the tiny specks in the sky again, east of the friends they just dropped off and moving in their direction.

Darklin sees the specks headed their way as well. He points them out to TK, who has found himself a small tree to hide behind. The natural noises of the marshland seem to be closing in on them as well.

Darklin

TK get behind that tree and keep yourself in cover. I will hide and see if they will pass us by. If not I will throw a spell first and then start with the bow. Make sure they do not net me other wise we both are dead.

He moves to the treeline and tries to find a spot to protect his back. Using his elven skills to hide as best he can. Grabbing a pinch of sand in his hand.

Yes. We trying!

Keyon

The elf curses. "I knew those bastards would arrive at the least convenient moment. We have to trust those two to hide themselves long enough to get the others ferried across." Setting his face toward Keg and Elnaerel, he urges the carpet onward.

Feanol

"Well those in danger were the ones that insisted on travelling by day so they could be spotted by the wasp riders instead of at night as I cautioned them. Keep flying I'll watch what the wasp riders do."
