Taibhse will attack whatever foe is nearest.

Feeling a bit exposed as the obviously capable Akhilieus runs off to help Xenos, Kain searches for use for him. The solo Sik stands out. Kain shakes his head and charges in to attack the dwarf fighting Sik, from its flank, hoping to keep attention on Sik.

While the fight seems to be turning in their favor, one by one every single member of the party either misses their mark completely or hits their opponent ineffectively. All but Akhilleus, that is. Though his attack only wounds a dwarf further without taking him down.
Drest is hit again but for minimal damage.
2 dam Akhilleus is also wounded again by the dwarf he tries to kill.

now might be a good time for magic, so he calls upon the power of Azathoth to conjure wisps of black smoke to rise from the ground to secure the dwarf fighting Drest and Ceana in place where he is. No matter how hard he grits his rotten teeth, the creature is frozen in place where it stands, unable to move even one of its sinewy, thick muscles.

Sik presses his assault on the dwarf, hoping he can finally take it down.
To hit: [1d20+2]=12+2=14 (THAC0:19), damage with battle axe: [1d10+2]=9+2=11
To hit: [1d20+2]=2+2=4 (THAC0:19), damage with battle axe: [1d10+2]=6+2=8
EDIT: in preparation for my first live game DMing hyperborea, I realized that I have been neglecting Sik's increased attack rate of 3/2. Oop. Not that it did much good here.

Although he's pretty sure Xenos' attack is enough to kill the dwarf, the former mercenary doesn't want to wait and see. He grunts from the pain of the wound the enemy just caused him and attacks him.

Seeing that the Dwarf is held in place, the druid looks for the statue and walks over to it, trying to ascertain if there is any "magic" emanations from it. If she detects nothing, she will try and pick it up.

Cyril keeps his distance from any of the remaining dwarfs that are still alive. He eyes the held dwarf and says, "Don't kill that one Drest. We may need to talk with it."

Couldnt resist dropping in this beauty from my buddy Del.
Xenos and Akhilleus are able to kill the dwarf on them and Taibhse, the Shaman unable to locate a lone enemy unless he wants to run after the dwarf Cyril scared away earlier.
Sik, Kain, and Belloc are unable to bring their enemy down, the Cleric taking a nasty hit from the dwarf this time.

Cyril shouts out to the pair by the statue not to kill the magically held dwarf so it may be questioned. Ceana looks over the jade artwork, guessing it is a representation of the god Ymir. She lifts the small statue from its place on the stone ledge without incident. The look in the held dwarfs eyes is one of pure hatred and disgust.

Akhilleus runs towards the dwarf fighting with Belloc, Kain and Sik (and now Xenos too) and does his best to help.
Rolling all the attacks, knowing that there's some distance and not all will be made, if any at all.

Short Swprd [1d20]=14 to hit [1d6+1]=2+1=3 damage
If backstab applies, +4 to hit and double damage.
