Plain full fat Greek yogurt, an avocado, some cashews and walnuts, steam bag of broccoli & cauliflower, and some mozzarella cheese for desert. I work second shift so my dinner is often more like other peoples lunch.

My wife insists that dill pickles, hummus, and shredded cheese blend make a delicious and nutritious lunch ... ??? I keep thinking I'll try it, it sounds tasty although weird.

A big bag of salt and vinegar chips    . I intended to cook something later, but decide to have a "a few" chips while I watched "a" twenty minute video on YouTube....Of course, I went down the rabbit hole and ate the whole bag while i sat and watched four or five videos. :( . My only defense is that they were science videos from PBS :geek:

I try not to open big bags of chips, once they are open they are getting emptied for sure. Of course in my case that applies to just about everything.

I took today off from work while management decides how valuable we are, and if they should keep all of us there or not.

I had pecan pie a’ la mode for second breakfast.

Hey, if we’re all going down, at least I’ll go fat and happy.

Chip the glasses and crack the plates!
Blunt the knives and bend the forks!
That's what Bilbo Baggins hates—
Smash the bottles and burn the corks!

Cut the cloth and tread on the fat!
Pour the milk on the pantry floor!
Leave the bones on the bedroom mat!
Splash the wine on every door!

Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl;
Pound them up with a thumping pole;
And when you’ve finished if any are whole,
Send them down the hall to roll!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!
So, carefully! carefully with the plates!

At least they get to decide ... here the governor published a list with an executive order, and shut down a lot of things.

...best recited while rocking manically, alone in a dark room.

We need to stay here,
Because we're safe here,
From what we all fear,

Outsiders steer clear,
Don't you dare come near,
You can't come in here,

I'll need some more beer,
To keep up my cheer,
But I need to stay here

Out the window I peer,
And at you sneer,
No one comes in here

How's everyone?

@roryb, how are online lessons affecting your teaching? Is business holding up well with the new format?

... my daughter is devastated. Over the summer she volunteered at a rehab/retirement home where she made friends with a lot of the old folks. Now 40% of the residents have covid, and almost all of them have comorbidities ...

That’s horrible! Awful how this is destroying particularly the elderly.

Honestly, I generally enjoy teaching online...I certainly save time on the commute, and can be with my kitties...to accommodate, I’m generally spreading my schedule out all day to keep folks happy, which is like teaching all the time. It’s the running of the business (we have 11 teachers) and dealing with the meltdown of their students and conflicts and watching numbers fall which is the most emotionally draining and demanding. I’m still lucky to be able to teach.

But it eats my creativity and time. I have one other game I’m running that doesn’t require much from me. Who knows what the future holds?

How is everyone else?

I'm fine, and honestly have yet to see anything awful happen beyond the stay at home orders. The raised blood pressure from the news coverage is probably doing more damage to people than anything else tbh. I hope others can be so lucky.

I am holding in there. I am still working and my job is impossible at home, so still going in (I am an analytical chemist). Been a rough couple of weeks, my Mom had a stroke 2 weeks ago and the hospitals are not allowing visitors so its been tough, thankfully she is on the mend and home the last few days with one of my sisters. Only time will tell. I hope all of you are safe and all your loved ones are doing well.

Maybe that's one of the upsides here, Rex? After this is done (hopefully with as little suffering as possible) the powers that be will be that much more generous in funding to the sciences that might help prevent the next shutdown-recession.

Things are going well here. My district has had a slow build up to arranging for us to teach online. Last week was a lot of online meetings and training. Then instructions to enjoy our Spring Break and then we'll have another week of preparation before we begin teaching. A bit of "hurry up and wait" :? .

It's quite odd really. There are no lockdowns or shelter-in-place orders. If it wasn't for the slightly lower amount of traffic on the roads, the fact that places like the library and the Y are closed, and the people in face masks at the store, you'd hardly know anything was going on. Even odder, this county is the state hotspot for cases & deaths.
