The last paragraph of my IC post finds your humble DM shamelessly paraphrasing the amazing Alan Moore who did several pastiches of H.P. Lovecraft.

No worries, could be we just hesitated too long, gotta love old school play!! Don't worry Rudolf won't hold a grudge... well he won't be able to as a puddle of green slime, or whatever bad is going to happen!
I was worried after the "roll a save" DM post without the corresponding "Actions?" -- but now I'm really worried!

Funny enough Telkis and Rudolf are the same height - and Telkis is way stronger. Just don’t get stabbed please, apparently the die roller only likes Rudolf when I’m not making the rolls.

When grappling, the ratio of your size vs. your opponent's size, is a factor in determining success.
Last time, Telkis was grappling a human, which was disadvantageous.

The chamber's every surface (floor, walls and ceiling) is covered with tormented, twisting faces.

Any mechanism, to raise or lower the gate, on this side that we can see?

Is the black dot in the center of the room on the map a pillar of some kind?

Yes, slightly.
rredmond wrote:How far "within" the mouth is the northern doorknob? Do the doorknob and/or key stick out of the hole in any way? Are they longer than the depth (that the right word?) of the mouth hole?
Mere inches.
Yes, both extend beyond the plane of the hideous face.

Is there any other image in D&D that provokes so much fear and caution as the green devil face?
