"With the signs of movement crossing this passage, we should have someone keep watch at either hole. I'm not particularly strong, so I may be better at being doing that than heavy lifting, but I'll do whatever the group wants"

The Gam’A Zone, 297D/81 (Morning)
Silvestri and MacMak light torches and position themselves in the right and left chambers, respectively, to provide lookouts.
Belial, Ron, Bruce and Frank begin moving debris from the tunnel, to clear a path for the pods. Kurot and Denslow review pod operation techniques and are still inside their vehicle.
After 20 minutes, the smaller debris is piled at each side of the main tunnel. Large chunks remain and will require two or more people to move them about.
***
At first MacMak hears a faint shuffling sound like shifting sand. He probes closer into the west tunnel with his torch, and then quickly backs away shouting an alarm to his comrades.
Four giant, mutated yellow-green grubs with heads sporting multiple tentacles scurry forth to confront your group!
Belial barks in surprise when MacMak yells. He readies his poleax and awkwardly runs/flaps toward the caterpillars. If he gets that far, he'll stop a hex in front of MacMak, wings spread and teeth bared.
Belial leaps over the bottom tunnel rail and lands in front of MacMak, his polearm ready for action. He is unable to bring the weapon to bear before the first giant grub attacks. (-4 initiative delay)
The sickly green grub scuttles forward and flails its tentacles at the mutant baboon. Four of the slithering appendages whip Belial, leaving an abrasion wound contaminated with slime. He begins to feel a numbing sensation in the wound areas, but his mutant fortitude resists the toxin of the carrion grub! (Made save vs. DC 13)
The winged manimal winds-up and swings his svetlegk twice down into the yellow-green worm (#1), slicing deep and opening a deep gap into its body! (6+7 =13pt. dmg) Yellow puss oozes out of the wound followed by dark red blood.
Denslow exits his hyperpod and moves towards the rubble. (He spends his action making a second move [40ft])
Ron fires a shot from his autoblaster at the worm attacking Belial. (Miss) OOC: Do you wish to make a melee attack this round?
Silvestri moves towards the other side of the tunnel, but remains on his side of the rail. OOC: Do you wish to make a ranged attack this round?
The remaining three carrion creepers advance forward at maximum movement, but are unable to make an attack. (Double Move)
MacMak moves back, under the rail, and fires his crossbow into the nearest grub (#4). The bolt strikes the side of the aberration with a 'PLOP' and vanishes into its body! (5pt. dmg.)
Frank waits for the grubs to move closer (#2), and then takes two healthy swings. The warrior's blade hits the sandy ground on the first strike, but hacks deep into the body on the second! (10pt. dmg) Blood and puss squirt across the dirt and sand floor.
One of the scuttling worms gains the initiative and presses an attack against Silvestri. (Random target). The creature uses its multiple legs to raise and crawl over the bottom rail, flailing its tentacles at the psionist! The creeper lashes Silvestri with 4 of its appendages, raking flesh and drawing blood! (Two CRITS) The putrid, slimy mucous in the wounds begins to numb the area and the psionist focuses on resisting the toxin. Silvestri’s wounds are too deep and his body stiffens. He collapses onto the rubble-strewn ground; his muscles paralyzed! (Due to two of the hits being CRITS, he had to make three saves vs. DC 13. He failed two of them. He loses his action)
Denslow ,upon hearing the commotion of combat, rushes forward. In desperation, he pushes his move to 30ft and hurls and explosive apple that bounces harmlessly across the floor and into the opposite wall. (Miss)
Bruce reacts quickly and shoots the creeper who paralyzed Silvestri (#4). The synthetic’s first shot strikes the soft body of the vermin and causes a stream of blood and puss to jet forth onto the floor! (9pt. dmg)
The carrion worm against Belial strikes the mutant baboon SEVEN times with tentacles! (One CRIT) He summons his simian rage to successfully ward off the overwhelming film of toxic slime! (He made both saves vs. DC 13)
Belial barks an intimidating warning at the worm. He buries the head of his assegai deep into the aberration! (7pt. dmg) The mutant grub flails in pain and begins to reel away from the winged primate.
Silvestri lies conscious but unable to move. He hears Bruce fire two shots at the beast. (Silvestri may try to use a mutation. He has a 50% chance of having a line-of-sight against a target)
MacMak aims at the back half of the giant grub attacking Ron (#3), but shoots high. (Miss)
The same crawler (#3) engages Ron with its head tentacles. Four slash at the cyborg, with two of them hitting artificial parts. He barely shrugs off the toxins smeared on his exposed flesh. (40% of non-area attacks hit artificial parts. Since the creeper’s tentacles do not inflict damage, I gave Ron a +2 on his save vs. DC 13. He just made it)
Ron slams the mutant grub hard with his svetlegk, slicing deep into its body! (9pt. dmg) Green ooze and bloods pool under the monster and it reels in agony.
Frank scores a marginal hit into the worm. ( #2, 4pt. dmg)
The creature counter attacks against the veteran, striking four times. (One CRIT)
Frank struggles to resist the paralysis venom of the tentacles, but succumbs to the toxin and topples over. (He had to make two saves vs. DC 13 because one of the hits was a CRIT. He failed both)
